Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Joie ANew York136 contributionsThis place was worth the battle with the hoards of tourists all taking selfies in front of everything. The architecture was inventive and I'm glad I went, but what a mob scene.Written 2 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kiv G4 contributionsIgnore the crowded St. Josef Market near Ramblas. You can find whatever you need at the Sant Caterina Market, and it seems authentic. Our favorite spot for light fare, Cava, and beer was Bar Joan. They were usually pleasant and very nice. To locate some of the best little eateries and bars in the Gothic Quarter, do some study on the area before visiting. James Blick's videos are highly recommended; they were quite beneficial.Written 29 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Marcus C1 contributionAmazing place a must visit if you nearby, the range of food is just mind blowing, we stopped to eat at one of the venues and were the best muscles I've had. - Ez M11 contributionsThe event begins at 9.30 p.m. and the venue fills up by 9 o'clock. Our arrival at 8:30 gave us excellent viewing locations. It lasts for an hour and is free. It was amazing during the thirty minutes that we watched it.Written 21 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Madd HatterMartinez, CA38 contributionsLas Ramblas is a pedestrian-only street that is great to visit and experience. With so many food options and shopping options you cant go wrong. Plus it is close to other monuments and historical sites that you can walk to all in one day and enjoy. Love all the side streets you can take and go through that are off of Las Ramblas. Also you can take metro and get off at one of the stops that are there.
I know you will read about watching out for pick pockets and all that but truthfully you do that no matter where you go and travel. Out of all the times visiting and walking through the Las Ramblas with my family not once did we experience any of that or not feel safe, not saying it does not happen but we did not. I will definitely come and visit Las Ramblas when back in Barcelona and experience it a lot more.Written 24 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It drops you in the north east corner, where you have great views of the city and the port. To get to the castle, you have to walk uphill quite a way. There is also another cable car that will take you up to the castle. You can also walk over to the Olympic sites and the national Art Museum, all of which are well worth seeing, but it does involve a good bit of walking. Allow a few hours if you plan to try to see it all.Written 22 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The indoor rainforest garden is a stunning mix of aquatic life, botanical plants and animals. Visitors can engage with interactive exhibits, touch, experiment, and learn, making it an enriching and enjoyable experience for all ages.Written 6 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MamavWorld21 contributionsWhat can I say, totally different from everything. A mini amusement park up in the sky!!!!😃😃 and a functional church also. It gets quite busy. Lovey churros and freshly made too. We took a taxi, although a train like mode of transport called the Funicular gets one up there@€6 one way. The view up once up there is breathtaking. Well worth the trip. With children, a Win Win situation!!!!!!!Written 26 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jack RRamallah, Palestinian Territories360 contributionsThis was our second trip to Barcelona and because we had doubts our visa will be issued in time we didn't make advance plans and buy tickets to the main attractions like the Sagrada Familia. As a result, we were not able to get tickets to go to the Sagrada Familia which was good because we had to make alternative plans and visit other locations we didn't know as much about. This compound is amazing. The architecture is stunning, and the history is interesting and nicely documented through the exhibitions scattered in the different buildings. Some multimedia installations here and there add a nice touch and makes the place come alive. The place is amazingly well kept with beautiful gardens where you can take a break and enjoy the views. There are toilets everywhere!! Which is always a good thing.Written 23 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CJPromaPittsburgh, PA96 contributionsGreat time at the beach. The sellers are a little pushy so if you’re looking to just relax you probably will not find it. The mojito to go is great but don’t buy the mobile massage.Written 14 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kevin KEverett, WA4 contributionsMy wife and I were fortunate enough to get an available tour slot for this excellent homage to the Alien movie franchise during a recent visit to Barcelona.
Luis’ collection of movie props and other memorabilia were well-presented in what couple pass as actual movie sets where, in a few cases, he used movie production techniques to make the spaces seem larger.
Along the tour, Luis provides some behind-the-scenes stories of certain aspects from production of the various Alien movies. Luis even cues music from the particular movie that corresponds to the set we were in to set the mood.
If you are a fan of the Alien franchise, you MUST make this a stop on your itinerary!Written 7 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Our hotel was on Via Laietana so we explored it most days and nights especially as, although it has a reputation for art galleries, pricey boutiques and shoe shops it is also home to several decent small traditional tapas bars and a couple of the cities burgeoning craft beer bars. It’s a maze of narrow roads and interconnecting alley ways opening up to the occasional squares, such as the one that houses the impressive Basílica de Santa Maria del Mar. For me, outside of a couple of quirky art galleries I didn’t really pick up on the expensive shops side, but certainly more the bars and restaurants. For those into craft beer DIECI8 Bar and the fairly recently opened Barna Brew Born are two craft beer bars well worth searching out. And there are several authentic tapas bars which are frequented by the locals and tourists alike.
I found it a perfectly safe area to explore both during the day and at night, but like various other areas of Barcelona where tourists congregate pickpockets and scammers work here. So just have your wits about you and your possessions tucked away and you will be fine.
The El Born district technically stretches east far enough to include the Parc de la Ciutadella which is a fantastic green space and a pleasant area to stroll when the sun is out for a contrast to the narrow streets of the rest of the El Born district.Written 3 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The center is occupied by an impressive fountain, while the ring around the traffic circle is surrounded by structures that are noteworthy in their own rights.Written 24 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
