Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The museum is located on the outskirt of Madrid, near an Air base. You can get there by public transport..but a car makes it much more comfortable. It is an open space and the wind is strong, have something to keep you warm.
The entrence fee is realy afordable but THEY DONT TAKE CARDS so cash is a must.
The space is wast, 6 hangars + an outside area..The planes range from the beginings to the present. A lot of realy interrsting planes can be seen, sadly some are further away from the pavements(they tell you to not walk on the grass). An engine exhibition is also in one of the hangars..realy interesting.
The descriptions are in well layed out, and the staff is realy friendly. All in all one of the better military themed museums i have visited. If you are into aviation/war stuf..i highly reccomend a visit.

Nice museum to visit. It is quick and informative. Be sure to access it through the main gate - do not follow your google maps.

This is one of the top 3 air museum visits I have done. The outstanding attributes:

    1. Wide diversity of aircraft: military jet aviation was my main interest that goes from Spanish F-86 all the way to Mirage F-1s. Some non-NATO made as well including Soviet Su-22, Mig-23, and Saab Viggen.

    2. Largest selection of military transports and helicoptes I have observed anywhere ( have been to lots of useums)

    3. Hangar 1 has a realistic immersive experience with aircraft, tents, personnel all replicated like the real thing.

    4. Its free. Just make sure if you bring a bag, you have a euro coin for the locker as they expect you to leave your bag out.

    5. All outdoor exhibits have 1-1 translation in English, so that really helps. Going inside, its a hit or miss. The helicopter hangar generally did not have english translation. If you know the types and know about them and just wanted to see them in real-life, then this is not that big a deal. But don't expect to learn at some exhibits as all writing is in Spanish.

    6. Clean bathrooms and definitely bring your credit card to spend time at the museum store. Very reasonable for t-shirt and patches and high quality items.

    7. There is a civilian airport close by so you will get to see a lot of general aviation aircraft fly

    The Bad: just one
    1. Hanger 1 with the real-life figures and dioramas is exceptionally done. The first section had everything in Spanish so I was about to walk out and spend time elsewhere but once I turned the corner, the real-life set-ups were all translated.

A very interesting experience and has many tanks since pre-WWII era (Spanish civil war) and a few unique tanks. On the down side, it is a working military base so pre booking is the only way to get in. The soldiers on duty explain and show new tanks like the Leopard II allowing visitors to climb up and even go inside. My son really lived it.

Beautiful museum of miniatures and dioramas. The pieces here are very impressive and you can find all kinds of miniatures: military, fantasy, movies, etc... The dioramas are amazing, they have an incredible and huge one of a WWII german submarine which even has lights. There's also a collection of historical bronzes by the artist Fernando Andrea. It has a store where you can buy miniatures, books, sculptures and they also offer custom services, they can create any diorama, portrait, miniature or sculpture for you. If you are looking to do something original and special while visiting Madrid, this is absolutely the place
