Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Gemma GBromley, UK4 contributionsVisited this place on the last morning of our week trip to Benidorm - I’m so glad we managed to fit it in as the views were absolutely breathtaking. We went early morning to watch the sunrise and jumped in a taxi to the top and walked back (and recommended) The cross was still illuminated when we arrived and watching the buildings and Isla De Benidorm (the big rock in the sea) turn red from the sun was a fantastic sight to see. The views over Benidorm and Levante Beach are incredible. It’s incredibly peaceful and there are lots of memorial things to remember loved ones up there. I can see why it may have been a favourite place to many. The hike down was still great passing many gorgeous houses and views. It’s fab to look back and see how far you have walked from the cross. A must do when in Benidorm!Written 29 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- jan k1 contributionvery beautiful church, a bit in Gaudi style and a marble pipe organ inside, definitely worth a trip, and if you ask, playing this beautiful organ, and it sounds very good too, was definitely worth it.Written 19 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Yu-MinLeiden, The Netherlands218 contributionsThis church has quite a sobre exterior but the inside is very large with multiple rooms. This church is built in name of Sinterklaas/San Nicholas. The altar is not as beautiful as the Santa Maria, but there is also a small courtyard when you look further inside the church and go through a few doors, which was well worth visiting.Written 19 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Estelle E2 contributionsA fabulous day out. The museums for me was not worth seeing. Far more of the beautiful town way up in the sky 600m above sea level. We took our own sandwich and drink to enjoy at the top. Head to entrance for the castle 4 euros and walk through a 1644 house on a few levels. Before entering casa Ortuna don't forget to see the church just after the casa. The views are wonderful. There's toilets at the top ofvthe casa orduna. Leave the house at top and head to the stations of the cross. The tiny cemetery is very peaceful with benches for us to sit and just enjoy how high you are. Another walk up to the remain of the castle built in times of crusaders and held until the moores took it over for 600 years. When the moores were slowly expelled from Spain in 1609 aprox. The earthquakes damaged much of the castle but great to see. Views are sensational. The only drawback is the steps. There are lots of steps and not for anyone who has difficulty walking. Also, children need a very close eye on as the low walls at the top are dangerous. Anyone with vertigo would also find it difficult.
Well worth 4 euros. Lots of restaurants with menu of the day at reasonable prices about £10.Written 24 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The Nativity village in the square outside at Christmas is spectacular with all the little chestnut stalls etc aroundWritten 6 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ken CEnglewood, FL600 contributionsThe cathedral opens out onto a small plaza, but is surrounded by buildings making it difficult to gage its size. With a single unadorned tower, the facade bears some painted markings. The domes are difficult to see when circumnavigating the outside.
Inside, the sanctuary is dark. Large dark oil paintings adorn most of the walls. Immediately on entry is the enclosed choir, which is locked to visitors. A small seating area of wooden pews have a rail along the center aisle. The Sacrament was in a chapel in the rear. Off to the side in the rear beside the ambulatory was a room displaying the Treasury. Several impressive pieces are included.Written 18 April 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The church itself is simple but beautiful.Written 29 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- calderspainEls Poblets, Spain123 contributionsHermitage Church and Gardens representing the stations of the Cross, peaceful place, not often visited, read about the man before you go to enable you to view the place in context. It's not a major attraction, probably 15 to 30 minutes, but it represents something specific to DéniaWritten 13 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
