This was such a fun activity and we would highly recommend!! We actually got a recommendation from another couple while at a completely different experience that this was a must-do in Naples, so we somewhat impulsively booked this and made a day trip out of it while staying in Rome, and we are so glad we did! Luca was a very enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide throughout the entire thing, explaining the importance of the ingredients both before and during the pizza making. With a small group of 6 people everyone was able to get individual attention and instruction. You will get to make your pizza start to finish, including taking it out of the oven with a long handle! Luca made a great personal paparazzi and sent us lots of pictures after so we didn’t have to worry about taking any during. Making the pizza took roughly an hour, then we were able to sit at the restaurant and eat our pizza with a complementary drink of choice provided.
Practical notes:
If you are coming into Napoli Centrale station by train, it’s about a 30-35 minute walk to the piazza where you meet depending on how fast you walk, but you could easily take the metro which will put you out right next to the Piazza Municipio. You meet in the piazza but the pizza restaurant is directly off the piazza so this tour does not have to involve much walking at all if that is a concern. The location is a great jumping off point for other popular Naples attractions and won’t take you way out of the way if you’re looking to fit a lot into one day.
Overall, if you’re looking for a fun activity that won’t take up a significant portion of your day, this is the one!! Luca is great and we are so glad we jumped on the chance to do this. We were already talking while eating our pizza about how excited we were to take the recipe home and try it out on our own.
