Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

You could spend an entire day here viewing the archeological collections. Egyptian, Roman, Pompeii, Herculaneum displays. The displays follow a timeline from prehistoric to the Roman era. There were many statues (some gigantic), mosaics pottery, funeral items. There is a nice cafe in the museum with a nice variety of food. I recommend a visit if you enjoy museums and history!

Easy to overlook but don't. Beautiful art work. I was the only one there. There is an audio guide but you need to download their app. I didn't have wi-fi so one guide walked around with me using her own phone!! The Varsari sacristy is amazing.

Fascinating and free!! Awesome and interesting experience! It IS hard to find! See photos for directions! Enter into the university, up the stairs to the right, down a long hall (students studying!) and enter!

I found this place by an accident and I highly recommend it. We had a tour on English and we didn't have to book anything in advance, if you are a student you get a reduced price. The lady who gave us a tour was so friendly and nice and she knew so much about Naples and its history which was amazing. The tour didn't last long, there weren't a lot of people, you have enough time to ask questions and take photos. Definitely a must when in Naples.

Compulsory stop for those visiting Naples: the museum exhibits a priceless treasure. A journey into the history of Neapolitan art. A must visit.

This monastery has a beautiful church and a collection of intricate nativity scenes. The art collection is nice too. From the upper balcony, there are great views of Naples looking towrads the bay.

One of the best railway museums we have ever visited and we have been to many all over the world. Great collection of historic steam, electric locomotives and railcars. Comprehensive information boards about each on even includes details of where they ran. Huge model railway too. The grounds are beautiful, with a great view of Naples.
There is a good website with details of opening hours which are a bit unusual. It's a 15-min. ride from Naples by a frequent train service and the museum entrance is just off the end of the platform.

The visit of the Bonelli Collection was a unique experience during my stay in Naples. When we entered the building we were warmly welcomed by Mr Bonelli whose passion and love for Naples and the collection was perceptible from the very beginning. Not only did we learn about the history and interesting events in Naples but we were given the chance to see the city with different eyes. We were the only two visitors at that time so Mr Bonelli gave us a private and detailed tour of the collection. The visit was free. I want to warmly thank Mr Bonelli for the beautiful journey he took us on during our visit.

This is a small museum with some interesting civic artifacts and beautiful paintings. The museum is lovely. The only downside is that it’s not air-conditioned (like many things in Naples) and there was a museum guild who followed me around and talked to me too much. It’s worth a visit.

We visited the place being accompanied by Dante Alighieri (a theatralized visit provided by Tappeto Volante). A super interesting spectacle and way to visit a place which is spectacular itself. It offers many areas of interest: lake, thematic chambers, it's always located under the Basilica, quite far down and all together makes it truly fastinating to visit.

We had a wonderful theatralised visit with Munaciello (provided by Tappeto Volante) explaning to us the history of Naples from financial perspective in a fun way. It's exciting to see this place in such a special way.

I visited this collection last month and I find it hard to express just how fabulous an experience it was. I felt truly priviledged to be allowed the opportunity to look at such exquisite pieces. I was accompanied on my tour by a very knowledgeable member of the family involved in this long standing business. His passion for the history and artistry was inspirational. (Luckily for me, his command of the English language was brilliant, since I don't speak Italian).
It was a delightful and very personal visit. Highly recommended for anyone with an interest in beautiful, hand crafted jewellery.

Although a bit run down in places this park gives locals and tourists alike a nice peaceful place to sit and relax away from the traffic noise and hustle and bustle of the city. There is a wonderful view of Naples Bay just past a terrapin pool (these were quite entertaining to watch competing to climb onto wooden floats). There are numerous park dwelling cats who may join you on or under a bench to sleep in the shade.
