Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We got the Full experience ticket lasting for two consecutive days, valid for Colloseum and Forum Romanum. Thanks to some computing glitch, the first attempt to buy tickets had money "reserved", no tickets arrived into my email. second attempt was a success. i have yet to check if i was charged twice (i think not, as the ticket provider stated so).

full experience ticket had access to arena. alternatively, you could get tickets to the underground or the spectator space.

You largely pay for the engaging moment when you enter the arena. then, you snake through the crowds towards exit and the colloseum spits you out back into the crowds of tourists and dinghy people trying to sell you a tour of colloseum.

We paid for tickets via their website which was just entry but they have pillars with headphones you can use inside if you want.

We had walked past and our guide had told us about it so we didn’t get a tour. We just went to get a feel for inside and paid entry only.

Trevi Fountain is the most beautiful fountain I have ever seen.
beautiful but to enjoy it and get some nice photos you have to go either early in the morning or around midnight
anyway, a fountain that leaves you breathless

I may feel some doubt if Piazza Navona is the best square in the world when I visit Piazza San Marco in Venice or Piazza del Campo in Siena, but recently I sat again on a stone bench in Piazza Navona and all doubts vanished as snow melts in the sun. Piazza Navona is the best. Sum it all up. The oblong shape of the square, mirroring the use of the area for horse racing many centuries ago. The artistic and historic significant fountains, with the famous Four Rivers fountain by Bernini in the center and a beautiful church and many historic buildings line the square. On street level there are many restaurants and bars with indoor and outdoor seating. But what is also significant is the liveliness of the square, with living statues, stalls and painters, trying to sell their paintings. You can remark cynically that this is all to please the tourists and then make an assault on their pocket book with inflated prices. There may be some truth in this, but the grand picture of Piazza Navona is so pleasing and impressive that only a 5 point rating can only start to reflect its significance.

I really enjoyed this church. It was historically important and held many wonderful pieces of art. It's also quite large and takes a few hours to fully see.

Trastevere hosts Rome's oldest synagogue; is no longer used for worship by the Jewish community. In the 16th Century, Trastevere's numerous Jewish community was forced to cross the River Tiber and occupied Rome's Ghetto. Trastevere has narrow streets with historic houses; it's filled with bars and eateries. Locals and travelers flock to Trastevere's cobbled streets.

Palatine Hill is a plateau located south of the Forum in Rome.

Here archaeological discoveries range from prehistoric remains to the ruins of imperial palaces are located.

Worth visiting the Coloseum and Roman Forum and Palantine Hill together as they are located side by side.

Anyways, full experience in roman forum means access to several exhibitions througout the area (villa, domus augusta, pottery showcase and the byzantine basilica maria antiqua). I was originally sceptical towards contemporary writers being cited "palace so large that eyes hurt and pyramids seem puny" but the ruin complex is truly large and multilayered. The southern part (towards circus maximus) resembles nearby caracalla spas; the part at domus augustus had videomapping teaser and some beautifully restored frescoes. the area includes a rosarium with older varieties of roses. beautiful view towards west (vatican). you gradually descend through the ruins of another palace towards maria antiqua, and walk amond the columns and temples of the ancient forum. therea re multiple ways to enter/exit the area.

What a great little castle. You get wonderful views of the area. It has a very unique history. It was never intended to be a castle at the start. Most people find this place. Interesting. I think it was worth the price of admission.

This is an amazing building. Spectacular from street level but amazing from the roof.
Climb the steps. Then pay €17 for entry to the museum and lift to the roof.

The Villa Borghese was splendid ! Me and my friends went there a few times during our holidays, to relax, read a book on a bench drained by the sun and we even used the miniboats on the lake which was a really fun and relaxed activity.
However, among all of those great things, we unfortunalety havn't been able to visit the Gallery Borghese ! There was too many people and we should have booked the visit weeks ago. So, if you want an advice : don't hesiate to book your tickets in advance !

The oldest and highest ranking of the four major papal basilicas, the Archbasilica of Saint John Lateran serves as the seat of the bishop of Rome, the Pope, and is one of the Seven Pilgrim Churches of Rome. The Loggia delle Benedizioni forms an integral part of the basilica. Inside the Basilica you can admire the beautiful high altar, ciborium, decorative ceiling, chapels, frescoes and mant statues of saints. A truly worthwhile experience.

A lovely area to walk around and just take in all the narrow cobbled streets and architecture that pops out when you peak around a corner!

We were here about 8am. No one was there, no scammers, no crowds. We could enjoy the steps which were built 1723-26 to link the square to the church. There are 3 terraces for the holy trinity. I know they are just steps, but the church on the top is pretty. Very close to the Metro Spagns stop. Not a must see, but nice in my opinion.
