Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a very busy visit, lots of people and queues to put up with.Lots of work going on to repair the damage due to the age of stone etc. Very uneven walking and steps up and down. Worth the visit but need plenty of time

It is beautiful, exquisite and well preserved. The dome is amazing. It is the largest unreinforced concrete one in the world. The record still stands. The floor is nicely decorated. The mosaic above the main altar is beautiful.

Unexpectedly stumbled across the fountain whilst walking around the city at about 1 in the afternoon. Of course, at this time of day it was very busy with people, we took some photos from outside the barrier but then thought the queue to get close to the fountain was going quickly so got in line. Contrary to what we’d read online this queue only lasted around 10 minutes which was amazing.

If you queue up in the day you’re more likely to get a good photo but if you walk past in the evening you can still get a pretty good photo without queuing.

A great city, amazing architecture, amazing food, be careful watching out for the bags and wallet especially in crowded places because my friend got robbed 🥺 and no one can do anything to help you

Is Piazza Navona the best square in the world? When I step onto Piazza Navona I tend to answer the question with a resounding yes, despite the large crowds of tourists and the high priced bars and restaurants lining the square. Yes, Piazza Navona has sharp competition from Piazza del Campo in Siena or Piazza San Marco in Venice, but the rich history, with Bernini's masterpieces, and the outline of the piazza makes it a winner.

It’s incredible the amount of history that happened in this location. What’s really awesome is that usually you have tour guides going around speaking in different languages and so if you don’t want to go on a tour, often you can hear pretty fascinating facts.

It is a perfect example of stratification over the centuries. It is originally the tomb of Hadrian, but now has been converted to a fortress and museum. It is fun to climb to the different levels and see the views of the city that are spectacular.

The lovely gardens and buildings in this public space make a peaceful place to find some quiet and escape the tourist crowds. Great view overlooking Piazza del Popolo.

A classic glimpse into ancient Rome, best experienced as part of a Colosseum tour with a guide. The additional historical insights provided made the visit far more engaging and worthwhile.

The site itself is impressive and steeped in history, offering a true sense of what life was like in ancient times. Facilities like a toilet on-site are a practical bonus for visitors. Definitely worth including in your itinerary.

This was definitely a breathtaking and interesting location. The history and displays made this well worth seeing. The rooftop views are unforgettable and worth the extra ticket.

The Spanish steps were a must-see on our list. Just be aware it is very crowded and a bit overrated. You can get great pictures but it will require a little patience.
Definitely worth seeing this historical site.

This is a very good museum & away from the crowds. The wall frescoes rescued from Roman villas & displayed in reconstructed rooms are particularly impressive, as are some of the sculptures. The title National is slightly misleading, as most major finds are in other collections, but very worth a visit.
