I recently had the joy of experiencing the Artemilia Parma Food Walking Tour, and it was an absolute delight. This tour, led by the wonderful guide Serena, was an exquisite journey through Parma's culinary delights, beautifully paced and immensely satisfying.

The tour includes an impressive array of tastings, including a chopping board of sumptuous cold cuts like Prosciutto di Parma DOP and Culatello di Zibello DOP (that I will dream about the rest of my life). Each tasting was an education in flavor, history, and technique, perfectly explained by Serena, whose knowledge and passion for Parma’s gastronomy shone brightly.

The vertical tasting of Parmigiano Reggiano offered insights into the age-old techniques of cheese making and provided a clear sense of how aging affects depth and flavor. The traditional balsamic vinegar was another highlight, with its complex and rich flavors. and the tour concluded on a high note with artisanal gelato. A tip we learned from Serena, look for a 3 cone rating on the front of the Gelateria.

Not only was each stop a discovery of taste and tradition, but the entire experience felt like a leisurely stroll through Parma with a friend who knows every secret nook. The tour was excellently valued, considering the quality and quantity of food and drink included.

Anyone looking for an authentic taste of Parma’s culinary heritage need look no further than the Artemilia Food Walking Tour with Serena. It’s a gastronomic adventure that satisfies the palate and enriches the mind. Absolutely recommend!

Laura was a wonderful passionate experienced guide who organised a pleasant day visiting real life places for us to see how the big three are made
We met the actual men responsible for their products and Laura introduced us to them in person
We tasted all the products and were able to compare their qualities
    Lunch was also excellent
I cannot recommend this tour enough

We loved having a private guide and driver for this tour. Laura is knowledgeable and informative. My favorite part was the Parmesan cheese factory tour. Ver informative indeed.

An enthralling peak at what goes into making the best-tasting cheese in the world! A compact tour only a short ride out of downtown Parma and an education that started with the cows having their breakfast right through to the aging process and an ample tasting of authentic Parmesan Reggiano cheese. Our tour guide was both entertaining and informative and his familiarity with the subject matter made him a wealth of information to answer questions and make suggestions. Unlike some tours which are long on talk and short on substance, this was two hours well spent and worth every Euro!

Roberta is an excellent tour guide, the best! The tour started with her and her hired driver meeting us at the hotel. The travel to the dairy was in time for us to see the cheese making process and gain an understanding of each step. Then, by car, we were off the meat factory. We gained an understanding of the curing and inspection process. Roberta, speaks both Italiano and English beautifully. She is very gifted with an ability to transfer knowledge. We wrapped up with a lunch at a beautiful agriturismo. It was a delicious lunch in a beautiful location.
The best tour ever delivered us back to our hotel filled with memories to last a life time.

Out tour guide Michelle was outstanding! My wife and I have been on many food tours in the US and in Europe and Michelle was by for the best guide we have had. She was incredibly knowledgeable about Parmigiano Reggiano and Balsamic Vinegar, we learned so much. She was also so nice and personable. We felt like we found a new friend.

Lisa, our guide for this tour, was very energetic and passionate about food. Not only could we sample a variety of dishes, but we also had the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes, into the kitchens of two of the establishments we visited.

Wow! This was a fantastic experience. Michelle is extraordinarily knowledgable about local food, art, wine, and culture. She has lived in the area all her life and is so passionate about what she does. She is a certified cheese taster and is pursuing her sommelier license so she really knows her stuff. Not only is she brilliant, but she is kind and very funny. She works hard to maintain strong relationships with local, and small scale producers who take pride in their work. There are countless tour options for food in Emilia Romagna but this group is the best. Book them today. Thanks, Michelle!

This tour is incredible! This is exactly what you come to this region for in every way. Michelle is so warm and knowledgeable about the region (being from Parma herself) and just beams with joy to share it with you. The pride for the food that’s produced here and the dedication to preserving it is downright infectious.

We stopped at several historical sites off the beaten path, a family farm where the pigs are raised and produce is grown, and the otherworldly estate where the Culatello of Zibello is aged. This was a once in a lifetime experience! The estate has a Michelin star restaurant, a museum that gives a ton of background on how the cured meats are produced, a huge one of a kind aging cellar, and even a few rooms as a hotel. I couldn’t stop taking pictures of the landscape and the aging cellar. The Culatello of Zibello is the best thing you’ll ever taste. The other meats were also incredible. The portion was so huge we had to wrap a few pieces up for later - rarely ever happens to my husband and I. The pasta was also really delicious and local to the area.

It was such a pleasure to share this experience with Michelle and we’ll be giving her a call for more when we come back to Parma!

While on our trip to Italy, we spent several days in the lovely city of Parma. Our tours and experiences through Food Valley were perfect. We began with a private cooking class with Christina - the experience of cooking and eating dinner in the cook's home was so much fun and the food was wonderful. While in Parma we also went on a tour of a Parmigiana Reggiano factory, a Prosciutto di Parma producer tour and lunch at a Agriturismo - all were very informative and the food was great! We also went to Modena where we had a guided visit and tasting lunch at a traditional Acetaia - as everything else, this was a great experience as well. We topped off the day by visiting the Ferrari museum and my husband got to test drive a car. The guides for each of our experiences were friendly, punctual and informative. Even with a last minute change of one of our guides, everything was seamless. Our tours were so personal and we can't say enough good things about each experience.

We enjoyed our touring day with Marika. She was full of energy and very informative. She took us to three sites where we learned a lot about the processing of Parmigiano Reggiano, Prosciutto, and Balsamic Vinegar. We would recommend Maestro Tours

Absolutely fantastic experience with Michelle! My family stopped in Parma during our most recent trip to Italy and went on the Slow Parma Food Experience. Michelle was excellent, knowledgeable and engaging throughout the experience. We brought our two small children (4 and 7) on the tour and Michelle went above and beyond to engage both of them in the tour and, to their great joy, brought them to see baby cows! The tour of the Parmigiano Reggiano factory was the highlight with the aforementioned cows adding icing on the cake for the experience. The tasting was generous and delicious. Lunch was equally delicious and the setting breathtaking. Will absolutely book another tour when we return to Emilia Romagna in the future!
