I cannot rave enough! This was the perfect ending to our trip along Italy, and definitely a must-visit for nature lovers.
Prior to the day I had contacted asking for flexibility in the schedule as we had plans in the afternoon. Our guide assured us that they would accommodate us as possible, depending on the final group for that day. Originally a semi-private tour, we were the only couple booked for that day so we had the tour all to ourselves.
Our guide showed up early at our pickup spot at the taxi pickup out of Venice, and we quickly set out for the Dolomiti.
The drive was smooth and relaxing, although we had booked the Dolomiti and Cortina tour, our guide also talked to us a little bit of Northern Italian history, and about the Prosecco region and other products important to the local economy. Being history and just general nerds, we enjoyed all the extra information we were getting along the way.
We made a few stops, and our guide was happy to accommodate us and flexible with our timeline whenever we wanted to rest or continue to the next stop. She also helped us bridge the language gap at local stores (we are Spanish speakers).
For the grand activity, she gave us several options on where to go up the Dolomiti regions, I took her advise and she took us to one of the watching points where we would be able to book a cable car and stop for lunch at one of the Ski Refugios with the best views.
The climb up was breathtaking— both literally and figuratively as we were thousands of kilometers up the sea level. So please be mindful to communicate this to your guide before suggesting to go up in a cable car, and also take it slow once you're up there. We took portraits, enjoyed the views, and had lunch, after which we went back down and drove back to Venice.
I can't thank you enough for the amazing experience and care during our daytrip. If we're ever back at the North of Italy, we will book again for another tour. Thanks!
