Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Helene Juliette B1 contributionThis review is very late and unfortunately the menu won't let me scroll to June 2023 when I actually visited Mauro Vianello's shop. I had gone to his shop when I was thirteen with my mother and brother back in 2010 and saw him work his magic in crafting a glass blown shark my brother still has and still shows off to this day. Absolutely mesmerized, when I returned to Venice 13 years later at 26 in June '23, I had to see if he was still working there. I was so happy to come across his shop based off memory! Mauro was very welcoming and even though my partner and I didn't have an appointment he sat down and created a glassblown cuttle fish for us! It was amazing! So much detail! I also fell in love with a model sea turtle he was perfecting and generously allowed me to purchase, and a completed lady bug.
If you haven't guessed I love this man's work and artistry. I hope to come back again with my brother, although hopefully much sooner than 13 years.
This is one of the best places in Venice, I full heartedly recommend you go and see Mauro's work!Written 13 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Instructions were given clearly and I was assisted with trusting support whenever I needed it. We rowed all the way out to the lagoon (shallow water - safe) and was informed of the surrounding scenery as well as having a nice chat. I highly recommend this experience for anyone wishing to create a great and memorable moment learning a new technique. Thanks!Written 31 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- GM1447Stroud, UK30 contributionsHaving done 50+ escape rooms in UK, this was my first one abroad and it didn’t disappoint. Merchant of Venice was an immersive room with a great variety of puzzles and plenty of padlocks. No problems with language as the game was engineered to avoid miscommunication. Rang them to request an earlier time and they agreed which was helpful. Our games master was informative and allowed us to be in control of requesting clues, and allowed us extra time at the end, then explained what we missed. It’s a fun room, well worth a go.Written 20 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- evamcbride1 contributionThe 'save your family' tour was great fun. I booked this activity with a group of colleagues and it was great. The ladies were absolutely lovely and it was perfectly planned from start to finish. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore the city and learn something new.Written 10 July 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - StoneyStuIsle of Skye, UK33 contributionsWe really enjoyed our tour with Marco, he was engaging, attentive and very enthusiastic. A group of 8 of us toured round the canals of cannaregio and briefly entered the lagoon. The kayaks are stable and straightforward to manage. It was a serene experience quietly paddling round. You get a different perspective of life in Venice away from the hustle and noise around St Marks and Rialto. Some great history from Marco also gave a good background to this amazing city. Highlight of our stay in Venice. Marco is an excellent guide.Written 5 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SteffanArnhem, The Netherlands4 contributionsI always feel that perspective is different from water level and in a kayak you are definitely on water level. To experience Venice from a kayak and thus water level is just amazing. The team from Venice Kayak wil take you on different tours and wil help you experience this safely and comfortably. Kayaking in Venice can be challenging, so I would say, that at least you should have some experience in a kayak. I took the 3 hour Venice Canal Tour (time flew by) and I am an intermediate paddler. The Lagoon Tour is probably less challenging and you will be immersed in nature and quiet.... As said, Venice Kayak and its team has all the right gear and experience to make the trip safe and comfortable. You start off in the Certosa Harbour with some paddling excercises - just to make sure. Certosa - by the way - is an absolute gem of an island and the Vaporetto only stops there on request! So also peace and quiet guaranteed. Arriving at Venice Kayak you immediatly feel welcome and everyone is very friendly and enthousiastic about Venice (and kayaking). I had some special requests and they tried to accommodate me in every way possible. So not only did I have a great day on the water, but also perfect equipment to enjoy the trip. I am very glad I chose Venice Kayak today and I am very happy to recommend them. Certainly wil book another tour next time I am in Venice (deo volente). Happy paddling Team Venice Kayak and stay safe.Written 8 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Tim JChorley, UK5 contributionsA fantastic holiday experience. The guide, Matteo, was really good and helped make the experience all the better. It was a bit of a nervy start for us, paranoid about falling in, but Matteo helped get us out on the water. The confidence grew from there and standing, or kneeling when the water got a bit choppy, became an ever easier transition. The canals we toured were really quiet but, in the late spring afternoon sunshine, pretty much perfect. I'd definitely recommend the experience, or the kayaking option, for anyone who wants to do a bit more than just the standard tourist stuff.Written 3 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
