Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Definitely worth the entry price and at the time if visiting it was not too crowded. The many rooms are full of amazing masterpieces including the ceilings room after room. You’ll get a walk through the prison part of the palace at the end. The only downside was the never ending amount of steps up and down.

This was a perfect location to take beautiful memorable photos. The best time is right after sunrise and before the crowds. Definitely make an effort to take in the sights and sounds.

We decided to take the plunge and sat out in the square for a drink. We had a glass if wine, a cola and a non alcoholic cocktail. The cocktail, although possibly a bit more than some places (18e), was larger than some places we have visited. You also get crisps and nuts with your drinks. In the end we decided to have a pizza as well and sat watching the world go by. The waiters were very friendly and chatty. It all came to 57euros. Which considering we could spend that easily in some other restaurants and we had to do this at least once.

We bought timed tickets to let us in at a certain time. Some technical glitch happened with the turnstile where you scan the tickets and it wasn't working. At that point, things became utterly nonsensical, as we had our tickets printed, with our time clearly visible and they wouldn't let us in and we had to wait. Fine, but then when the turnstile was working again, a bunch of the walk ins were let in before us despite our timed tickets, so that was a bit frustrating. We went in the hot sticky summer months, so there was some haze that dimished the view, but it was still worth it. Plus, the breeze you get up there is such a nice cool off from the oppressive heat.

This is a must while in Venice. It isn't a huge site, but it is full of history and beauty. It is a self-guided audio tour that will take your breath away. Get there early and pre-purchasing your tickets is recommended.

Really beautiful but busy bridge, due to the shops on it. Best seen from the canal. Would recommend going early morning/early evening as less tourists who are on a 'day trip' will be there.

Stayed 3 nights in this neighborhood. Very nice neighborhood to be in. Lots of restaurants, shops and grocers nearby. Walking distance to major attractions. Quiet at night and always felt safe.

Our 6th visit to Venezia and the first time we visit the Collection and the Cafe (see separate review).

What a delight and such a brilliant location.

On January you se the Exhibits and not the crowds.

    Do visit.

An impressive array of works by the artist Tintoretto. You’ll be amazed by the works on the ground floor however reaching the first floor where the whole room and ceiling is covered in fantastic creations. More exhibits are on the second floor too.

With the world of Bellini, Titian and others located within, this church is a must for any fans of Gothic Franciscan churches. There is a modest entry fee.

    * the most luxury shopping center in Venice, in 4 floor. Expensive prices even in sale.
    * Escalator is available to go up and elevators both to go up and down, there are some spaces and chairs to sit and rest, food and drinks are available in entrance, your internet work well there, you can take your pet in. Not very busy.
    * it’s not only a shopping center but also a beautiful exhibition in such a historical atmosphere.
You can find all famous and known brands there. Woman’s and man’s fashion, jewelry, beauty, watches, gourmet, gifts, … and also event pavilion and terrace.

We revisited this beautiful church on our latest trip to Venice and again enjoyed the lovely views of Venice and the surrounding lagoon. Even in peak summer, there were few people visiting San Giorgio Maggiore, and we got to linger over the modern art exhibit in the church and take the elevator to the top of the campanile without a line.

This is a collection of shops and vendor stalls at the base of the Rialto Bridge. In one area you can find pretty much everything a tourist could want – sweatshirts, tee-shirts, Carnival Masks, and souvenir items. In another area locals are buying fruits, vegetables, meats, and cheeses.

After you’ve had your fill of the major sights—St. Mark’s Square, the Doge’s Palace, the Grand Canal—where throngs of tourists and overpriced souvenirs dominate, it’s time to head over to the Dorsoduro district.

Here, the streets are cozier, the crowds thinner, the osterias better, and the prices lower… naturally, as this is where the locals prefer to spend their time.

The only downside is that you might regret not staying here instead. We certainly did, and we’re based in Cannaregio, which isn’t bad at all. But Dorsoduro stands out with its authentic, local vibe.
