Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- ZAHHertfordshire36 contributionsWent to Ponte dell'Accademia to view the Grand Canal.
Stunning views from this point, a perfect photo spot.
It’s a little out the way from St Marks Square but definitely worth the walk.Written 15 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Armoury was interesting as was the prison but the rooms were a testament to over inflated egos and attention seeking.Written 15 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Travelseeker1125Minneapolis103 contributionsHighly recommend a visit inside the church when you are visiting Venice. Beautiful architecture and artwork.
Reasonable entry ticket price.Written 17 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - deanbpjsEastbourne, UK326 contributionsThis was well worth the visit. It’s actually not that old and there’s not much inside. BUT the view from the top is worth every Euro of the €10 cost.
We got to Piazza San Marco for 8:30 in the morning before the queues and crowds built up. That’s the first tip. Avoid the crush and be there before opening. We waited half an hour to beat the rush and were 3rd in the queue. By the time it opened the queue stretched across the square half way back to the waterfront
So on to the view. If you like views then this is your must-do if visiting Venice. The panorama is stunning
There’s an elevator and you can’t walk up (so that’s good - both from a still being able to breathe point of view; but also from a crowd management at the top perspective). Considering the numbers waiting, the top of the tower wasn’t over crowded and unpleasant
And that’s all there is to it really. Views = amazing (see the pics)!Written 21 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Marko Ž.Maribor, Slovenia5 contributionsI recommend at least a two-day visit to experience Venice in the morning, afternoon and evening. A very safe place with a large crowd of people, but they disappear towards the evening and you can walk alone and feel the Venetian atmosphere.Written 20 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sarah BWhitby, UK8 contributionsAmazing performance and evening
We had a box and it was a great experience, worth every penny

One can enthuse about Titian and Bellini but really to my mind it is the wonderful ensemble, it’s enormous scale, the bricks, the numerous beautiful memorials, that of Canova especially elegant and beautiful in my mind, the sun of all its parts rather than any individual pieces. I do hope I get to come back a further time, it is delightful inside and out!Written 17 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Philip MBristol, UK7 contributionsModernist art is not my cup of tea but i enjoyed this collection.
Some exhibits by artists I had heard of.
Nice setting , clean facilities.

Absolutely fantastic building, so much to look at and admire. Was reasonably quiet at about 11.00 a.m. in March so got to see everything in detail. Get the leaflets to read about the place. The paintings and ceiling are so beautiful, impressive, stunning, amazing and sad. If that is not enough, you have all the remarkable wood carvings and the lamps, oh what lamps. Some really talented people years ago. Climb up the stairs and find even more to look at, including the preserved finger of St. Andrew?? Well worth an hour or so to be completely blown away.Written 13 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Elina MichaelidouLondon, UK584 contributionsThe San Giorgio Maggiore church was not very impressive but the views from the top really made up for it. There is a lift that takes you to the top, and the views of Venice are amazing. While walking around the church we could see a few art exhibitions too. In total, we spend around 40 minutes there.Written 9 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Adriana U6 contributionsI chose this after getting a bit of advise from a seasoned Venice traveller. Definitely better than staying near the piazza. St Mark's square area is vibrant and full of amusement but it is also terribly crowded and if you want some quiet time, you are better of choosing Dorsoduro where you can have both the nice sites and busy areas but also the quiet alleys. As a plus, you get to take pictures without the intrusive tourists and visitors. There are beautiful sites everywhere and a great combination of students and people of all ages sharing the space.Written 5 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 3CaldwellsIpswich, UK124 contributionsOne of the must see sights. I actually visited at night to capture the Noah fresco as well as the Bridge. - Jill T1 contributionWe had never been to an opera and I figured if we were gonna go, it was going to be in Italy. Musica a Palazzo was wonderful about emailing with us to set up the reservation and letting us know what we needed to be prepared ahead of time. The opera was a highlight of our trip abroad! The talent was wonderful and the interaction with the audience fun and engaging. We had a great time and the facility was beautiful! Highly recommend spending an evening in Venice taking advantage of this.Written 19 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
