The Zurich Hauptbahnhof, or the main railway station is the biggest one in all of Switzerland with connections to entire country and abroad. Like all other stations it is in the very center, and in front of it you can catch buses or trams to every part of Zurich.

If you like old and vintage, unique things and wants to spend couple of hours, that’s a nice flea market to visit. Very close to Zurich lake so worth it.

I've been a long term customer of Jelmoli's. And you pretty much always find what you're looking for. If not, most of the employees are friendly enough to look the item up and see if they can order it for you. Else, they have good recommendations. Some of the staff have a bit of an elitist vibe, ignore that/them and go for the younger ones.

    Some stores are really crowded.

Absolutely love the food department! You'll find many international specialties, you don't usually find in Swiss stores.

Prices tend to be higher than in other stores. But you pay for the service and location.

I quite like this mall. It's relatively small but worth visiting if you need something.
It's close to the center of Zurich and provides anything from food store, to clothing, restaurants, hotels, cosmetics, movie theater, gym, electronics, pet shops, etc.
It has a nice ambience and does not feel too crowded.

First of all..if you’re looking for British products, you’ll find proper scones, British cheeses and much more there! This cool space has small bars and coffee bars, shops selling local delicacies and fresh products. It’s worth going there for groceries or just for a light lunch and looking around! Outside you can find an additional 40-or-so designer shops, bars and clothing shops.

Oerlikon Market, which is held Wednesdays (6.30 to 11.00) and Saturdays (6.30 to 12.00), is really worth a visit. There are many different kinds of stalls ranging from vegetable growers, fishermen, butcher, baker and florists to fine food mongers. All the colours and smells combined with the bustle of people conjures up a very special atmosphere. You may well find vegetables that you didn't know existed - just ask and you'll be given an explanation and a selection of recipes for the plant in question.
You had best not come by car, parking is quite expensive and parking space rare in the surrounding area (and because of the market there usually is a congestion...). It's only two minutes from Oerlikon train station.

Do not miss out on this gallery, it is such a gem! Amazing atmosphere, fascinating artworks, cool team, it is always a great idea to come by, enjoy the gallery collection and find out what is new in the art world. You can always purchase an artwork here that would look great at your place :)

Letzipark Einkaufszentrum (Letzipark Mall) re-opened not long ago after undergoing major renovations. There are several options to access this mall with public transit (i.e... Bus #31 and others). If driving, the mall has a large parking structure, the first three hours during shopping hours are complimentary.

This was my first visit to this multi-level mall and it offers many food/café, clothing, grocery, service shops, and more. The place is modern and very clean and there was a very good flow of customers frequenting many of the businesses. I needed a few household items, which I was able to locate with ease and the staff at the customer information booth within the Coop Bau & Hobby store were very friendly.

The mall offers free secured Wi-Fi, clean restrooms, lockers, a child play area, ATM’s, elevators, and a Box office ticket sales for major city events and more.

To art lover's this is a MUST see!
Beautiful impressionist paintings. Check out the incredible, "Monet's Garden". One room lost a few paintings, since, I've been there. A huge robbery took place there a few yrs back. 2 of the 4 bigtime paintings were recovered. One of the greatest paintings at that museum, Cezanne's, "Boy in the Red Vest", looks gone....forever. I remember staring at that masterpiece, for about 1/2 hr straight. Did that with, many paintings there.
Interestingly---in another museum, similar to this, (though much grander), The Barnes Foundation, in Merion PA, (on Philadelphia's Main Line), has 1 of the, "Boy in the Red Vest"'s. It's a bit eerie, now, to look at it, knowing the way the one in Zurich affected me. I have also reviewed the Barnes, in this site. If you know the Barnes, you can get a feel for what the Buhrle is about. Another fancy house, in a fancy neighborhood, with astounding works of art. Just as you enter...there were 3 or 4 great Delacroix's along the wall, up the steps.
    That was just the beginning.
Also like the Barnes it's a bit out of, Zurich, proper. Splurge on a taxi to make sure. Plus, the desk will call you a taxi when you want to leave. I forget what it cost, but I KNOW it wasn't jaw dropping. I'd guess, around 15-20 bucks.
Also like the Barnes, it has quirky hrs, and days open. Check into that before you go. My 1st time I didn't check and I took the taxi all the way to the Buhrle, and it was closed! I had to wait, 4 more yrs for my 2nd trip to Zurich.
It was the focal point of that trip..(Was a pit stop to Weggis---a resort in the Alps--Also reviewed).
Totally memorable but...I will miss that Cezanne.

I went to see the Striking Moments in Photo Journalism exhibition and it is well worth seeing. Different cultures and aspects of life shown and it was easy to find and although I didn’t understand the German I enjoyed it.

A fun diversion from Bahnhofstrasse shopping, this "schönes und gebrauchtes" ("sweet and used stuff") store offers vintage clothing, footwear (including bold brands like "London Rebel") different styles of furniture, dishware, CDs, DVDs, books and tons of various bric-a-brac for the prices starting from just 0.1 CHF.

We visit often Zürich so it’s refreshing to discover new areas. Clean and modern style for the all Europaallee, we enjoyed strolling around even if the area is small it does have many restaurants and shop and we liked it’s so close to the main ZH railway station. Definitely will be back.
