Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A more authentic local market than some of the others. The aisles are very narrow, so it is hard to stop and look around. A great range of produce, although the traditional Dutch chips were missing the day we went.

So excited to happen upon this market! Small, but it served up everything. Veggies, fruits, baked goods, honey, jams, salve, chocolate... Great creperie as well. It was white asparagus season and they were giving out samples which was crazy given the cost of white asparagus. This is off the beaten path so I'd suggest pinning it before you get there.

Charming local market on a square by a church where you can get quite an impressive range of fresh organic produce from olives, olive oil, fresh breads, meat, cheeses, jams and preserves, deli items, charcuterie, fish and shellfish (including fresh oysters), freshly made pancakes and waffles, traditional Dutch fare...the list goes on. Many locals come here for their quality foods. Not cheap. There is a cheaper and bigger market a couple of blocks away, and another in Ten Katestraast for good daily produce. Both good but not organic. Was very pleasant to stroll around this market which also has non-food stalls (rugs, clothing, bags, art, gifts etc.).

Nice that you can tase every kind of cheese before buy it. Every cheese is very good, but prices are very expensive. I think that one of this cheeses need to go on your bag in return travel.

I was visiting my friend in Amsterdam and aside from seeing the sights and enjoying some drinks in and around Amsterdam, we really enjoyed stopping at the Henri Willig stores to try out the interesting variety of cheeses. The staff are so friendly and will help you and let you try any variety from my experience.

Please remember to buy some cheese too and not just try the free sample :)

My favourite may well be the smoked cheeses.

This is part of a chain so there are many stores all around Amsterdam that you can go to, and they also have a service to deliver the cheese it seems.
