- Bob R65 contributionsClaire W met our small group at the Cobra Cafe near the museum and escorted us through the group visitor door (no waiting).
It was evident early on Claire was passionate and knowledgeable about Van Gogh. She provided insightful commentary on the artist's revolutionary style and techniques, and how they evolved over his short and tragic life. She answered all our questions with warmth and energy, and her English was perfect. The Whisper headsets she gave us enabled us to easily listen to her commentary despite the noise of the nearby groups and crowd.
Taking the guided tour was the best decision we have made on our trip to Europe. We would have missed so much had we toured the museum on our own.

Once there, we met our tour guide. The guide had interesting stores highlighting the people abb n d culture, however many in the group dropped away after about 1/2 hour into the tour, wanting to experience the town on their own. The tour lasted about 2 hours. We had the rest of the time to eat and explore in our own. Bruges is beautiful and well preserved, however it was filled with tourists in July and the stores were mainly souvenir shops.

We stopped at seven different places and experienced delicious food and festive beverages. Elena's charming personality delighted us all, as did her knowledge of local flair and history. - Jeff PNebraska22 contributionsWe were introduced to Julia through a bartender at the first pub we stopped at. (Thanks Victor) We told him we were interested in taking a tour of the red light district and he immediately handed us her business card and said “you need to call Julia, She’s the best”.
He was absolutely correct. An absolutely delightful and friendly young lady who gave us a quick tour of Amsterdam and how the red light district came about, she then was able to take us through the red light district and tell us some very interesting stories, and we ended the tour with a question and answer at the same pub we met Victor.
I would highly recommend this experience as this is the first thing we talk about when we discuss our two week trip to Europe.
