The guide was really interesting and included the history of the synagogue but also how the whole complex. I personally loved to sit there in the benches adorned by the silence. There is also a small area which sells souvenirs which are contributions to the church. It's allowed to get inside but for a woman, it's needed to cover our head. There's a plastic box with headscarfs near the entrance so that you can wear it. It's nice to be in the hall and looked at the interior of the mosque. I did this so that I could obtain the full flavor of the religious residents of this decadent city. I only understood a few words in the Dutch language, but it didn't matter as I knew the biblical readings the priests were presenting.
