This is the most charming museum. It is so much more than a hidden church as you get to experience what life would have been like in a 17 Century canal house. The audio tour is comprehensive and interesting with the climax being the stunning small church at the top of the house. I'd say this is a 'must see' in Amsterdam.

If you have any appreciation or interest of European history about WWII, then this is a “must see”. This is not the first resistance museum we’ve toured, so can compare. It’s very well done and tells some moving stories. The audio tour is outstanding and really needed to get the full impact and information. We thought we knew the Netherlands role in the war, but this gave us new perspectives and we appreciate that.

Amazing guided tour showing the history and mechanism of windmills. It is relatively closer to Amsterdam and allows you to experience what’s like living in the windmill.

Really interesting place to walk around with a fascinating history and a lovely church. It is a really lovely place to spend half an hour and find out more about Amsterdam's history.

Excellent - like Boxpark in Wembley (London) but far more attractive place to sit and take in food culture. We especially liked the shrimp bar buns and Quesadilas

I cycle here most days. It is stunning. It spans from Amstelveen to central Amsterdam. It has forest, it has gardens, it has streams and rivers to swim in, it has a theatre, it has a horse manger, it has a goat farm, it has a boating course, it has climbing activities, it has cafes. However, in spite of so many things going on, it remains the most peaceful and tranquil place I know. I leave each time refreshed and rejuvinated ready for the day. I truly love my visits to Amsterdamse Bos.

The museum consists of an audioguide and you have a timed entry with a group, with each room going into the history of the canals. The audioguide was very good and easy to use. It was fascinating to hear about how the city was designed and expanded. Would recommend a visit here to anybody who wants to more about the history of the city.

Visited this place on a recent trip to Amsterdam and had a great afternoon. Easy tram ride from the centre of Amsterdam. It was a really hot day and was packed and a great atmosphere. My husband and I shared two of the beer flights plus some tasty bitterballen. Got chatting to friendly Dutch people sat around us. All in all a great afternoon. Bought myself a beer glass in a nice box for just 5 Euros to take home, which was a lovely souvenir. Highly recommended.

This is a really beautiful synagogue and had a bonus of free entry to the Jewish museum and an audioguide included as part of the ticket. The guide was really interesting and included the history of the synagogue but also how the whole complex. For an insight into how the history of Jews in Amsterdam, this is definitely worth a visit.

Get inside an 18th century Holland house? This house is a great opportunity:) Take your audio guide and enjoy the whole house from the garden behind the house, to the kitchen, and to the luxury apartments on top. For teens up to 18 the entrance is free.

I visited the Wereldmuseum on a school trip the other week … obtained terrible museum fatigue in the process but the exhibit we saw was very informative of the masked history of the Netherlands. This has been a certain point of frustration for me during my time in Amsterdam. The complete lack of discussion of colonization and imperialism imbedded within Dutch history is seldom talked about. I appreciated the Wereldmuseum for this.

This park is great! We visited Amsterdam with our 7 year old son, and we saw a lot of history and culture. It was good to go to Amstelpark on a warm day and do all the little kid things. We biked to and through the park. We splashed in the big wadding pool, rode the small train through the park, tried to go to the petting zoo but it closes at 3pm (but we still saw some animals), my son played in the playgrounds, and rode on the little rides. He was so happy. (I would say 7 or 8 years old would be the oldest ages that would really enjoy this. Ideal for 3-6 year olds).

We visited as part of a day trip to Amsterdam. We were not disappointed with the tour. However, we would have liked some information and signage in English so we could better understand and appreciate the experience.
The rooms were decorated with artifacts from the family and very well maintained. In the basement there are restrooms. That level also has the kitchen and storage area for household goods used for serving. In one room there was a video of how the family gained wealth from slavery with interviews. The film looked very interesting but sadly had no English subtitles, so I really only watched and tried to interpret the themes.
The stables and garden were also part of the tour. We sat in the garden for a bit to just enjoy the out-of-doors. Apparently, they do offer refreshments at some time but not when we were there.
I found the visit to be good. We know that great wealth for some means oppression of others. As a founding family of the Dutch East India Company the family is doing its part to own that history.

We learned so much at this museum, it is only one big room but it took us about two hours to look at everything. The staff was very nice. We had a pleasant time!

I really enjoyed visiting the museum. The staff was very nice and friendly. My guide was a very professional young man. The diplay is very nice and also the house where the museum actually is. I think they should promote this museum much more. A pity that some books are only in dutch, but most of their materials it's in english. Some would say they promote 'bad habit', but smoking it's something concerning our culture and mankind.Anyway I would say a visit to this museum it is a must. It's located in one of the nicest canal in Amsterdam and it won't take you much time to visit it. At 12 o'clock I was the first visitor, and I took some great photos. Nice postcards and books are available for sell.
