Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- ogol17Joshua Tree, CA980 contributionsWith quiet streets, beautiful canals and a whole different atmosphere than the center of the city - this is a lovely area to stroll in.Written 31 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Carol ADraper, UT138 contributionsThis is a beautiful, huge park in the Zuid part of Amsterdam, near the Rijksmuseum , Stedelijk, and Van Gogh Museums. After spending several hours visiting the museums, it was so nice to stroll through the park, enjoying the trees, flowers, ponds, statues, etc. There are several restaurants in the park and we stopped and had a lovely lunch outside at the Park-Zuid restaurant. Such a lovely place to spend an afternoon!Written 5 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Arvind V2 contributionsGrand 360 degree view of Amsterdam. Whole day entertainment for young and old. Visit to Amsterdam is incomplete without visiting ADAM's LOOKOUTWritten 10 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Nicholas M1 contributionIt is a nice place to visit and on the way to most places in the centre. Good to use as a reference point as well. The nine streets area near here is fantastic.Written 7 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Ben GManchester, UK38 contributionsWent to see a concert with the Buenos Aires symphony orchestra. Great performance by both orchestra and the soloist. Staff were very helpful friendlyWritten 25 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Thomas VOakland, CA17,513 contributionsA very classy part of town, away from all the honky tonk. The museum buildings are gorgeous and are in park like settings, and along canals. There are a lot of tourists, but the crowds seem to melt away. Places to eat and drink nearby. Buy your museum tickets ahead of time.Written 23 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- kgwayNew York City, NY51 contributionsGreat shopping area with a mix of local stores and global brands. Great place to wonder, grab a snack, and shop. Something for everyone!Written 18 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Thomas VOakland, CA17,513 contributionsThis is one of the widest waterways in the city and one that you can take a canal boat on, or walk along. It is not the most charming, but it is very practical as a way for transport. Several big bridges.Written 24 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Thomas VOakland, CA17,513 contributionsOne of the very pretty canal streets. We enjoyed our walk down this street and took some photos of the unique buildings. But we had an errand to run so we did not linger. Worth a Stroll.Written 24 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JoelAmsterdam, The Netherlands586 contributionsI cycle here most days. It is stunning. It spans from Amstelveen to central Amsterdam. It has forest, it has gardens, it has streams and rivers to swim in, it has a theatre, it has a horse manger, it has a goat farm, it has a boating course, it has climbing activities, it has cafes. However, in spite of so many things going on, it remains the most peaceful and tranquil place I know. I leave each time refreshed and rejuvinated ready for the day. I truly love my visits to Amsterdamse Bos.Written 14 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Thomas VOakland, CA17,513 contributionsThe pattern of the canals do form a ring, making the old city look like a theater. The ring canals are linked to canals in straight lines so they make up streetlike formations for transport. Plan to take long walks along the canals to drink in the atmosphere and admire the scenery. That's what we did.Written 24 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- 🌈🌈❤️happyopenmindedtraveler❤️🌈🌈The Netherlands402,292 contributionsI like to come here sometimes for a concert. Enjoying a concert with a cup of coffee, what more can one wish for on a Sunday afternoon. If one is in Amsterdam it might be worth your while to take a look inside. - Thomas VOakland, CA17,513 contributionsWe walked along here enjoying the views of the canal houses and the water. It is one of the widest canals, some theaters and special places along the way. Not the most charming, but practical for water traffic.Written 24 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Thomas VOakland, CA17,513 contributionsOne of the grandest canals, fairly wide. This is an area where the wealthy built very large canal houses. Try to visit one that has been turned into a museum or a hotel. Learn their unique style. And take a long walk on this big canal.Written 24 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- I visited this place🇫🇷🇺🇸🇬🇷🇨🇭🇬🇧Israel35,053 contributionsPROS
* Pretty attractive quaint view
* Many illuminated bridges
CONS
You have to find the correct/best place to see this- and at night when the bridges are illuminated
"I VISITED THIS PLACE"...
... after I learned about it on my Flagship Amsterdam cruise. I walked to it after the Analogues concert at the Carre Theater.
WAS IT WORTH THE COST?
It doesn't have a cost
WOULD "I VIST THIS PLACE' AGAIN"
If I happened to be in the area- sure
