Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- StephGRotherham, UK457 contributionsWhat a fantastic place to find something to eat, we had the intention of trying all different foods but we tried a portion of fries and they were massive after eating half we were full and had to throw the rest away.Written 12 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - therichastillStevenage, UK2,719 contributionsThe Markthal in Rotterdam is very close to Blaak station which is served by trams and buses as well as the Metro for the local area. There are also trains further afield from the NS station to local areas and Inter City trains taking you further afield. If you cannot get a direct train then it is only one stop to Rotterdam Centraal which had many other destination opportunities.
The Markthal is an amazing piece of architecture and there are a wide variety of food stalls selling many different things to eat as well as other stalls and shops.Written 22 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It's easy to access and even better when easy to find.Written 7 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LeonhknyHong Kong, China14,495 contributionsDe Bijenkorf is a major Dutch department store chain. The Rotterdam branch is in a Bauhaus building. Apart from that, it is just an ordinary place for shopping. Tourists may find the free restroom useful.Written 7 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- vani MRotterdam, The Netherlands82 contributionsI live close by and go shopping here all the time. The trick is to come on a Friday night. You can stroll and wander in peace. Saturday and Sunday the place is overcrowded and you can’t do anything at ease. They offer a wide range of shops tho, there is something for everyone.Written 25 June 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Alexey SRotterdam, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands3 contributionsan extremely interesting place that represents an alternative vision on photography, and mixed media. During my visit, I had an interesting discussion with art curator and had discovered interesting photography. Great place to visit during your visit to Rotterdam in anyways!!Written 10 October 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Hanne N2 contributionsThe space is amazing. It's a hidden gem close to the city centre.
The different exhibitions are always a surprise and always different, on point.Written 14 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Now already a location for trendy shops, coffee bars and restaurants, while more arches will be transformed into units for these purposes in the near future.Written 14 February 2014This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Aussie135London, UK871 contributionsMy first stop on my Baltic cruise was in Amsterdam and I opted to visit Delft and the Hague. I particularly liked this cheese shop in the main square at Delft - it offered lots of free sample tasters of their wide range of cheeses plus the shop and the staff had plenty of character. It wasn't long before my taste buds were tempted by a cheese with red chilli peppers - I bought a small truckle for 10.95 E. Their window display makes it clear that they are a cheese shop.
The staff wore traditional costumes and were kind enough to pose for a photo. A delightful little shop and well worth visiting, especially if you like cheese, and you may be lucky enough to be there on market day too as I was. The market is vibrant and has plenty of character and provides plenty of local delicacies, including more cheese!Written 31 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Asnate BRotterdam, The Netherlands20 contributionsIt is a great place if you are interested in art, culture or publishing. It is not a gallery in a tradditional sense, it is an artist book space. Here you can find range of unique books from all over the world. Sometimes there are special events- performances, bookreadings or workshops. Books displayed in Printroom are made by artists, designers and architects, often published in small edditons. These books are little art works to enjoy. Printroom is a showcase and reading room with a possibility to buy a range of titles. People there are very kind and will take time to guide you through this space once you arrive. It is a place to slow down and enjoy!Written 12 April 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Cari M184 contributionsThe large mural was very cool but I was expecting more from the building based on all the hype. I also thought it would be more than just food stands. Also limited seating unless you got food from a place with its own seating.Written 18 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Natalja MThe Hague, The Netherlands1,346 contributionsThey say it’s the first sculptural work of the photographer Jeff Wall.
Lost luggage (figurative) and the far unseen (unknown horizons) - its from this particular pier thousands of the migrants were leaving the old Europe for the New World ( America) by Holland America Line.Written 20 December 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
