In our case - we believe that if you really appreciate great chocolate - make this a definite stop on your shopping trip.

Les Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert

It is truly beautiful and is the perfect place to grab some expensive Belgian chocolates, have a bite to eat, check out the ultra chic boutiques or simply do some up market people watching and posh window shopping.
A stroll through this shopping arcade is recommended to see the architectural beauty of the arched glass-paned roof with a delicate cast-iron framework.

Products from this shop make a perfect gift for anyone with a sweet tooth (the cupcake tray has my personal recommendation) or an amazing treat for yourself, making Elisabeth a compulsory culture stop in Brussels.
There are a lot of absolutely delicious sweets which you must try!!!! it's great that there are many shops around Grotemarkt and you can buy sweets in one of them :)

"Maison DANDOY spectaculoos speculoos" was founded in 1829, there are three shops in the center: Rue au Beurre, Place Stéphanie and Rue de Rollebeek, so you will definitely pass in front of one of them :-).
This small shop off the Grand Place is very unassuming but packs the best waffles in Brussels.

After visiting other shops like Meert, Marcolini, and Frederic Blondeel's (which are all very good), we both agreed that Chocopolis had the best chocolates during our trip to Belgium.
The shop itself is fun to visit, as half of it is devoted to chocolate making so you can observe the employees making the chocolate by hand.

This great shop has now sadly closed as Pierre passed away a few months ago.
Due to health issues and an understandable desire to spend more time with his young child, Pierre has closed the shop to browsing customers.
