Not for the faint hearted if it’s done well. Brilliant and will book again. Only way to get to those overly tight muscles.

I was in need of some TLC, so, before I travelled, I looked at my holiday resort’s spa menu but found it disappointingly small and, frankly, ridiculously expensive. Looking for advice on Tripadvisor, I was impressed with the very positive reviews for Swan Day Spa and really liked the treatments they list on their website and found their pricing realistic and fair. Imagine my delight when I checked out their location on Google Maps and found that they were literally a three-minute stroll from my hotel.
I contacted the owner, Cinia, by email before my departure from Ireland and was easily able to book my two chosen treatments on the dates and times I favoured. Thanks to a Revolut link in Cinia’s email, I was quickly and safely able to pay a ten euro deposit per treatment by way of credit card, and email confirmation of my appointments arrived by return. Not only was this first contact swift and super-friendly, but also reassuring and efficient.
Having arrived in the Algarve after a nine-hour door-to-door journey, I was looking forward to my Ninety Minute Relax Massage the following morning. The Spa encourages you to arrive ten minutes before your allotted time so that you may relax in their cosy reception area with a soothing cup of herbal tea before being called for your treatment. The two different treatment rooms and the private dressing room I used at the Spa during my time in Alvor were both small and dark, but in an entirely positive way: they were calming and intimate, and cosily warm without being suffocating.
I enjoyed my full body massage immensely and it did particularly my back and shoulders the world of good. My massage therapist Sofia was simply wonderful; not only obviously very skilled at her craft but also calm and quietly spoken, and in contrast to so many massage therapists I have encountered here in Ireland, she perfectly understood the benefit of relaxed and relaxing silence during the treatment. At the end of my ninety minutes, I felt so tranquil, I could barely roll myself off the treatment bed, and I booked another massage with Sofia for the following week.
The other treatment I had booked was a 55-minute Sublime Skin Facial which was administered by Andreia (I hope I spelled your name correctly and apologise if not) and turned out be a small miracle, the lifting benefit really kicking in the following day. Today, two weeks later, it is still a pleasure to peer into my mirror.
I’m hoping to return to Alvor, perhaps later this year, but to be honest, even for someone staying in near-by Portimao (just 10 minutes by car or 20 minutes by bus), it would be well worth their while making their way to this spa to experience their brilliant mixture of genuinely friendly, personable professionalism in a lovely, relaxing and clean environment, at prices that I consider fair, both to the business as well as its customers. We were a group of 7 with 3 children/teens and we all enjoyed the salt spa and mud treatment experience. The friendly staff explained everything well and it all felt relaxed and informal. The mud treatment gave us a good giggle but our skin did feel lovely afterwards. We went just after lunch and it was nice and quiet - we had a pool to ourselves for most of the time. Would recommend as a fun and different experience. - CocoD9 contributionsI had a hot stone massage and a facial at Zensations with my friend. It was fabulous. The staff and the service was outstanding and you get a lot for very reasonable prices. We looked at several gyms and spas before deciding to get our membership there. We have been extremely happy with the value and services provided. A special shoutout to Carla at the reception desk, she's very accommodating with all our requests and she's so welcoming. We look forward to her smiling face each visit. Another shout out to personal trainer, Guierme, or "G", for understanding the needs of us beginners and being so upbeat and fun that we look forward to going to the gym. An hour massage for 45€ you can't get better price for that kind of quality. Loved every single minute! - Debbie BChelmsford, UK43 contributionsThis hotel is truly wonderful and what an amazing trip we had. This was our first visit to this exceptional hotel and I can honestly say everything about it was first class.
The staff from arrival to departure were warm, sincere and genuine. Their goal was to make our stay perfect and they certainly achieved this.
The rooms are on a different level, they are grand, spacious and luxurious. The terrace attached to the rooms made such a relaxing option to have drinks overlooking the pool. We were upgraded as Hilton Diamond Members and this recognition was much appreciated.
We used the Spa which was fantastic and such a treat in addition to the wonderful, hotel facilities.
The staff at breakfast were out of this world in making your morning with great service and wonderful food.
Do not hesitate to treat yourself by visiting this hotel which is one of the loveliest hotels I have had the privilege to visit.

They are real thai massages and the experience as soon as you arrive is wonderful. I try to go atleast once a month.
