Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

    Very friendly staff-
Very informative tour learnt a lot about the wine making process plus tasted some really fine wines, the Red being in our opinion the best one although the Sauvignon came a close second.
Winery in a lovely location just outside Silves. They gave me a Free bottle of the Red as it was my birthday.
    Thank you guy’s.

We had an excellent stay in Armacao de Pera, specially because of our airbnb right beside the colorful and vibrant beach. There are many other similar beaches in Algarve region, so you can take a pick.

We went for a boat ride to Benagil caves one day, then hired a car for a day trip to Lagos the next day. It is almost at the center of Lagos and Faro.

Positives : Reasonable rates for stay, good food, good beach, great crowd, great vibes

Negative : Not so well connected by public transport.

I took my kids along and it was a sweet and delightful experience learning about local orange farming. Our host was passionate about his farm and it was interesting to learn how things have changed over the years for this family-run farm. Advice: wear closed-in shoes and bring an empty water bottle to fill with freshly squeezed orange juice.

This is our second visit to Convento do Paraiso, well worth booking a tour & tasting, and lovely additional of a ‘safari jeep’ ride to the vines. Our guide Vanessa was so lovely, a real asset to the winery. We saw the last of this years harvest being pressed, enjoyed lovely wine and tapas, and (of course) brought some very nice wine home! Thank you!

Great fun for all the family. Runs in August.Folks dress up in medieval clothes and parade thru the town to the sounds of music..there are jugglers, snake charmers, street singing and performing, stalls selling local produce and crafts...hay bales and benches in the streets next to barbecues of hog roasts and sides of beef. U pay a couple of euros entrance and buy an earthenware goblet for one euro in which they serve any drinks that u buy. It all starts in the evening from 6pm with a parade thru the town, then a show at the castle later for which u pay extra to go see.alot of fun and a great evening out for all the family.

The town is small but nice enough. The castle is quite impressive from the outside and cheap to enter. Once inside, there is not much to it other than walking round the castle walls. There is a really nice cafe inside serving drinks and food, which we would recommend. The cathedral looks very run down from the outside but has some nice Portuguese tiled artwork inside. Finally we popped into the market but there really wasn’t much there to make it worthwhile. If you’re interested in a more historical trip, it’s a good place to visit.

This beautiful, beach is accessed by a dirt road leading to a long board walk over the dunes to the beach. There are no facilities or places for food or drink. Those 3 factors keep this beach fairly quiet. The beach stretches east to Albufeira and west to Armacão de Pera. Walk on the beach or the newly completed boardwalk that follows mostly north of the dunes. Ample parking. No overnight parking allowed.

This museum is over three floors with archaeological finds from over the centuries. There is also access to a small section of the town walls to get some views across the town and valley. The main attraction for me was the deep well in the centre of the museum and then the wall plan explaining how the town survived because of the well and water from the river.
