Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We throughly enjoyed our day with Katia. She is an outstanding guide. We especially enjoyed the East tour for exploring the natural resources and breathtaking views. The lunch was also outstanding — super cool to try the unique stew.

We’re so glad we got to know this lovely island through this experience. The 9-seater van was also very comfortable with individual air vents at each seat, which makes a huge difference.

We did both the West and East tour and highly recommend booking both to get the most of the experience. The two journeys are so different, with this one focused on the natural resources, like the calderas, and the West on the gorgeous view points and towns. So, if you can only do one, it’s really just up to your personal preference on what you want to see most.

From start to finish this was a wonderful experience .
Joao instantly put us at ease and spoke perfect English.
We truly got a feel of the beauty of the Island and Jaoas love and knowledge of it shone through.
Despite being mid June, it seemed like we had the place to ourselves.
Lunch was a wonderful all you can eat(and drink!) buffet of simple but very tasty local food .
Cancel your hire car and go chasing waterfalls with Jaoa instead 🙂

The trip was fantastic from start to finish. Would give 6 stars to Mario if able.

Such a knowledgeable, kind and thoughtful person. He was the best guide we could have hoped for. So knowledgeable about the Azores and saw such beauty.

Brilliant Tour and Andrè was fantastic. Really enjoyed every minute of it. It was relaxed, fun and informative and we saw everything we wanted to see. The lunch is well worth adding on as it was so much delicious food and drinks we were delighted. 10/10

The tour was amazing and was as described. Rafael was very knowledgeable and explained the start of wine production in The Azores through to the present day. All the wines that were tried were excellent along with the food provided, be prepared to be unsteady at the end!

Not my first time here, but this was the first time touring the entire island - and I am so glad I chose ‘igoazores’ because we saw EVERYTHING that this magical island has to offer (we did the two-day tour so we got sun, clouds and the fog which is spectacular!).

The amazing father-son duo are great. Diogo (the son) was our guide for both days and we just loved him.
Knowledgeable, funny, and a great storyteller, Diogo went above and beyond to ensure we saw all the sights (he even made a few extra stops so we could take photos).

Would definitely recommend this tour company to anyone.

My husband Mike & I had an awesome day touring all of the west and Sete Cidades. Our tour guide Rita was brilliant. She was very friendly & knowledgeable. We learned so much about the Azores. She was very patient and kind. We never felt rushed at all. The views were absolutely amazing. You have to see it all in person to really appreciate the beauty. We were in awe of the lovely green grass, the mountains, the lakes and of course all of the happy cows. We hope to return to this beautiful Island. Thank you Rita.

    Book this excursion!

Don’t hesitate, this is one of the best tours we’ve ever taken
Carlos, our guide, who was absolutely the greatest, spoke perfect English and knew every every single site to bring us
He was courteous, effective, and so full of knowledge.
We covered one end of the island to another, and I didn’t want it to end.
    So well worth the money.

This was a great experience. We went around the island and saw several views of the lakes and volcanoes. It was difficult due to the cloudy weather. Our driver knew many facts about the history of the island. We saw so much. We also had an excellent lunch at 4 plantos restaurant and made it back to the ship in plenty of time.

This was an amazing trip with my family. Filipe and Marica were very attentive and thoughtful and showed us the main island attractions in one day. We visited the Sete Cidades and Fogo lakes as well as the tea plantation before lunch, had a great meal at the guide's recommended restaurant and in the evening we enjoyed thermal baths and went to see the fumaroles and drink it's waters. Before returning home we went to Vila Franca do Campo where there is a beautiful chapel and an awesome viewpoint. Both the Guides have a lot of knowledge on the island and are friendly and fun to be around, they even surprised us by taking my sibling and father to see the fumaroles under heavy rain with an umbrella they had and were very kind to borrow us some jackets when going to the thermal baths since it was raining. It was a 10/10 experience and we only regret that we did not have more time to explore the island with them since we were leaving the next day. Highly recommended!

Exceptional experience throughout its trail from beginning to end. You get the glimpse of season, vested greens and azalea blooms, pick of early hydrangeas blossoming. Funtastic azores tour guide, Paolo knew exactly how to complete the walk on our given weather which started with drizzle, walking through the mists felt as we are walking through clouds. Reached our peak on when sun was out for us to enjoy prepared lunch with fruits and sweets too :) and the view on perfect timing.
Paolo was thoughtful, considerate, informing each one’s (8 of my friends) curiosities and physical capabilities.
Words and pictures can not be same when you are at its sight, breathing, tasting, seeing its view. You have to be there to see that people and Mother Earth can be harmonized. I’ve definitely learned, grateful to sao Miguel, azores existence. I will definitely returned to Azores to touch base with my self existence

For our last full day on São Miguel, we booked a trip around the western part of the island. As it happened (I suppose, due to a rather uncertain weather forecast), we were the only couple on that trip and the gentleman called Nuno, who possesses all the qualities of an excellent guide, made our day perfect from the start to finish. He was considerate and polite, with a ‘sixth sense’ for making people comfortable and setting the pace for exploration “just right” … super flexible and able to tailor the whole experience to the weather, our interests and wishes … it goes without saying, super skilled driver too … a great communicator with vibrant personality; also observant, never missed any opportunity to share interesting (and thought-provoking!) information/ facts … yes, a mind-blowing wealth of local knowledge, so much to share with us!
Sorry, I’m not going to describe any place we visited in particular, because WHEREVER one goes on this island, one finds something unique, something fascinating, something beautiful …
We can highly recommend this trip and once again, thank you, Nuno, for introducing your exceptional island to us in such an unforgettable way, we would love to come back!
