Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There isn't a whole lot to see here. Basically it's a walk through several greenhouses showing the stages of pineapple growth. We piggybacked on a bus tour guide which was much better than wandering around alone.
There's a nice cafeteria selling everything pineapple flavoured. The pineapple gelato is especially nice.
It's definitely true that these pineapples are better than the more common Hawaian style ones.

The gardens are a short walk up hill from the main town centre and cost five euro each to enter. The gardens are very nice and have many paths winding around the gardens. There is also a small chapel hidden away and also a cafe. We had a nice stroll around for an hour or so, worth a visit.

The exterior is rather unremarkable, but the inside is exquisite. I think the interior is the most beautiful in Ponta Delgada.

Fantastic afternoon at Quinta Do Agriculur. Our guide, Victor, was very knowledgeable and friendly. He made my wife and I feel very welcome and made this visit one of the highlights of our stay in Ponta Delgada. You can see the animals at this farm are super well cared for. The farm is set out superbly to make this a great experience for adults and children alike. Victor gave us a great insight into the history of the islands and educated us well on all aspects of the farm. We got to milk a cow and to taste the raw milk. Lovely!! An overall excellent experience. Great value for money. This is a must do whilst on Sao Miguel.

The gates are a lovely entrance to the pedestrian area of downtown. The contrast of the white and black is stunning and makes for a popular photo stop. I hear they are lit up at night but I didn’t get to see them since we were only in port for the day.

This is a beautiful church inside and out in the pedestrian area of Ponta Delgado. The contrast of the black and white is stunning and unusual to see. There are benches with trees and flowers around the church and a great area to enjoy a drink and people watch as we did.

We came here as part of our trip around the island. It was a private trip, not one from our cruise ship.
Lovely to hear that it’s one of the oldest pineapple plantations and that it takes about 8 months to grow the pineapples. Also fascinating to hear that they smoke the growing pineapples to kickstart the growing.

It’s free! What’s not to like. Nice shop selling “Pineapple “ related items.

What a fantastic place, staff are knowledgeable and more than happy to give you more information or just show you around. The entire experience is built upon the level of interest you show and nothing was too much trouble. Absolutely a must do, doesn’t take long but lots of really interesting history to learn about!

The best way I can describe this park is that it's like a campground without the camping. It's a huge forest area with lots of trails and cleared out areas with tables and grill pits. Come early to claim an area for your family and spend the day. You take turns using the grills with the other park visitors. There are bathrooms, but bring your own toilet paper, soap, and paper towels. Relatively hilly terrain, but it's well-trodden. We had a toddler in a stroller and it was pretty easy to wheel him in and out, but it looked like there were area we didn't go that were more difficult. Overall a great way to spend a day!

A privately owned garden and so there is an entrance fee here. I went with a group so cant remember what it was but not very much. Some very old tree and huge bamboo stands.
Mainly greenery at this time of year but promise of colour from springtime. Would go again.

Decent mall to spend time on a rainy evening. Stays open till 10 pm. Food court with the usual fast food options. Picked up shorts, T Shirt and leather shoes at good prices. TIP: Taxi stand is just outside the main entrance on the right. Easy to miss since the taxis here don’t have prominent signs.

I combined three hiking trails for a total of 30km and covered a large part of the seven cities area.
I could say that this viewpoint was the least special part of the tour. The views of this lagoon are impressive.

During a guided walking tour of the city, I wanted to visit the synagogue. My guide had never been inside and I was explaining things to him! This is a hidden gem. The Gates of Heaven Synagogue (built 1836) is no longer used, but has been preserved along with a small museum. It is well worth visiting to learn about the small Jewish community in the Azores.

We decided to walk up and wander round the farmers market. It wasn't very full but maybe that's the time of year?

    Fairly easy to find.

Lots of stalls selling fruit and veg plus plants and bulbs. Friendly people on the stalls - we got to try some fruit from a stall owner, even though he didn't speak English and we have limited Portuguese.

    Worth calling in to
