Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a private collection. There are many fine paintings and statues in this well laid out museum. There are gardens in back for walking and private reflection. Highly recommend Allow 2-3 hours

Lovely shopping centre and massive. For those who are a bit older and remember C&A there is a great one here. Plenty of places to eat too.

Out of town shopping with a great selection of high street brands. It’s a taxi ride from Lisbon or a 30min walk along the coast.

It is very popular place not only among tourists but there are a lot locals having a quick bite. Many different choices from sea food, pizza, kebabs. A lot of choices of wine and beer. It maybe difficult to find empty seats, but if move around you can find something. We stopped there for a quick taste and we were not disappointed.

Feira da Ladra - Flea market at Campo de Santa Clara. Opens only on Tuesday and Saturday. If you are in a mood of shopping at the flea market - go for it. Bargain for a better price. You can find many different things. Perhaps something you like it. Old records, tiles, brass fixtures, clothing ...you name it.

It's a big indoor shopping center with quite a few stores, a movie complex, and a huge grocery store, which is where we went. Clean and convenient. A taxi stand outside.

Widely regarded as one of the best museums in all of Portugal, this museum is actually 2 buildings in an 18.5 acre park, easily accessible via the blue (azul) Metro line (Sao Sebastio stop). The Founder’s Collection includes works by Rembrandt, Rubens, Renoir, Monet, Degas, Manet, van Ruisdael, Cassatt and Gainsborough. The Modern Collection is considered to be the most complete collection of modern Portuguese art in the world. Admission is 10 euros, 50% reduction for ages 65+ (better than the discount offered by the Lisbon Card). The museum offers free WiFi and you can download and use a free guide to the collections on the Gulbenkian Museum App (free). Tip: Admission is free on Sundays from 2pm on.

Great store for gifts from Portugal. They had fun colors and a great selection. I bought some mugs and some small bowls in bright colors.

Visited here on a Tuesday. Started at the bottom of the hill and to be honest the first section is all tat that is worse than you would have thrown out at home. However, as you go up the hill it gets better as there are proper stalls with vinyl records, vintage clothes etc. Some good quality stalls in the actual building at the top along with very good food and drink. Had the best tasting caipirinhas ever for only €5 here. Also great ham ciabatta for €8 (long wait as made by hand but worth it) and the kids had a great burger and crepes from the food stall near the door. Also had great coffee sat outside one of the bars just by the market hall, €1.5 for a latte !!
Worth noting we travelled on the Metro here to Santa Apolónia. Tried to catch a bus that never arrived and in the end walked it. It is a steep walk uphill but is only approx. 10 mins.

Sundays bring out the crowds to stroll around, shop and eat. We did the same, had a good lunch, experienced some art, shopped for books at the excellent book store, and had a drink. Not easy to get to, a long ride on a street car and then a walk. We took an Uber back into town.

A great place for a snack lunch. Surrounded by tiny wooden huts selling bread, cheese, charcuterie, beer, wine, sangria the space in the middle is covered and gives space to sit and eat. A real foodie heaven that has you coming back for more.

Visited this market last sunday..easy to get to on red airport metro line, and get off at bela vista. Very large market with 100s of stalls. A very local market. Would need 2 to 3 hours to get around. All selling the simular stuff like house hold, fruit and veg, runners, shoes, clothes, handbags, and very nice underware. Great food stalls there too. Lots to choose from. We had kids with us aged 11 and 14. It was a bit too much for them in the crowds and they felt scared a lot. Lots of people pushing and shouting which is normal and ok for adults but can be a bit much for kids. Great experience and great for bargans. I loved it because i love the buzz of a market!

This set of works by Sebastião Salgado is an amazing opportunity for us to better understand how we are damaging our own planet.

It is an incredible opportunity to see beautiful photographs and learn more about places we didn´t even imagine to exist.
