Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We walked past this very grand building as we love this neighborhood, Santos and Principe Real. This is where the National Assembly meets and it is a huge white building on the hillside. Often there is a small demonstration out front.

The Camara Municipal de Lisboa, or Lisbon City Hall, is located in the small square, Praca do Municipio, which is a short walk of about 200 metres from Praça do Comercio. It has a very impressive facade, but entry on the day I visited was not permitted, probably due to Covid-19 restrictions. In the square in front of the building is the Lisbon pillory, Pelourinho de Lisboa, where people were punished and executed up until the end of the 19th century.

This palace is very neglected and a bit out of the way, really only worth looking at if your around this area of the city! Last home of the last king of Portugal this is now home to the Portuguese foreign office so you can’t go inside. The park to the front has a nice fountain and a good view
Of the palace to take a photo and of the sea and bridge. Also there is a park to the left which used to be the gardens to the palace well worth a look as no one really knows it’s there!

It's a mansion with a guard and a wall because it is also the official residence of the Prime Minister. We went to a celebration here and enjoyed the extensive gardens that were lovely. It is located in the very upscale Estrella neighborhood.

Interesting building located at the bottom of Rua Augusta, great backdrop to the square and the waterfront, to go with the tram stops.
