- 1957Ottawa, Canada990 contributionsWe took this funicular ride up did not see much on the way up because it was so full, and we waited a long time to get in but once we were at the top it was well worth it , the views were splendid, we could see Lisboa , the castle and the beautiful sunset. - 19BriotLondon, UK87 contributionsWe took one look at the queue for tram 28 at Martim Moniz and decided against it, however right by the stop there is the biggest outside escalator we’d ever seen, so, being nosey we went up it to have a look.
When we got to the top we went left through the streets, walked 5 mins to Socorro tram stop (it’s on the corner of the junction by some bins and a shop - there’s no sign, the man in the shop said to stick your hand out) . Tram 12 took us past the cathedral, the Santa Luzia viewpoint, through the streets and down to Praça de Comércio where once again it was Bock-O’clock! I would recommend this if you just want to experience travelling on a tram but don’t want the squishy-squashy tram 28!
