Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- gavin hDerry, UK26 contributionsThe trams are beautiful and a must experience ride for a visit to Lisbon. The audio tour gives an overview of the city.
Only complaint is that the streets are so narrow you don't really see that much.Written 23 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Did it once but no need to do it again. Just ok.Written 31 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 1957Ottawa, Canada990 contributionsWe took this funicular ride up did not see much on the way up because it was so full, and we waited a long time to get in but once we were at the top it was well worth it , the views were splendid, we could see Lisboa , the castle and the beautiful sunset. Also lots of shops and places to a drink and music !Written 20 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Thomas VOakland, CA18,952 contributionsThis little streetcar takes you uphill from Rossio to Chiado, a short ride. You can also ride downhill. It's a very good way to avoid trudging up the steep hill, and a fun ride.Written 3 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 19BriotLondon, UK87 contributionsWe took one look at the queue for tram 28 at Martim Moniz and decided against it, however right by the stop there is the biggest outside escalator we’d ever seen, so, being nosey we went up it to have a look.
When we got to the top we went left through the streets, walked 5 mins to Socorro tram stop (it’s on the corner of the junction by some bins and a shop - there’s no sign, the man in the shop said to stick your hand out) . Tram 12 took us past the cathedral, the Santa Luzia viewpoint, through the streets and down to Praça de Comércio where once again it was Bock-O’clock! I would recommend this if you just want to experience travelling on a tram but don’t want the squishy-squashy tram 28!
