Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My wife and I did a guided tour of the Acropolis and Parthenon during our honeymoon! Katerina, our tour guide, did a wonderful job explaining the history of the surrounding area to us, had a wonderful attitude, and was hilarious. She photobombed a picture of someone in our group, commented on it, and laughed about herself afterwards, just one highlight of her personality. We learned so much more through her than we would have if we didn't have a tour guide. We spent a couple of days prior in other museums with all the information go in one ear and out the other, but with Katerina everything stuck. Also a big highlight was that she pointed out the Areopagus, an important site for us as it is mentioned in Acts 17, where the first Greek citizen became a Christian! We wouldn't have known that otherwise and are incredibly grateful for her wonderful attitude, wealth of knowledge, and fun personality. We would highly recommend a tour and ask for Katerina!

Tour was fantastic. Our guide was Nikki who made the tour amazing. She was knowledgeable, passionate and had a great sense of humour. The views were unbelievable. I would highly recommend this tour.

My wife and I truly enjoyed our one day private tour of Athens. Our driver Konstatinos was incredibly helpful, friendly and informative. We also engaged a private guide Alice who truly brought the sights to life with her deep knowledge of Greek history and the history of art. Alice was exceptionally knowledgeable and her explanations of the Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum, Temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrion's Arch, the Ancient Agora, and the Panathletic Stadium added immeasurably to our visit. Our driver Konstatinos expertly navigated the busy streets of Athens to our many destinations including Lycabettus Hill, Monastiraki Square, and Syntagma Square. Our driver and guide both exceed our expectations on this excellent tour.

Maria was a great guide for the tour. Knowledgeable, fluent in English, and passionate about her city and country. The food providers were outstanding without being touristy. Be warned, though: the bites keep increasing in size. My wife and I cancelled our dinner reservation after getting back to the hotel.

Our driver/guide was early for our pickup at our hotel. It was nice to get a few minutes early departure. He was very informative on history and the sites. The car was comfortable and good air conditioning. He would give us a little history and then drop us off to allow us into the site for our own walk thru. Our last stop was Plaka and he suggested 3 restaurants for late lunch. We had a delicious lunch. I would highly recommend this tour.

Our brilliant guide to Delphi gave us a view of Ancient Greece and the Temple of Apollo, the Oracle, the sanctuary of Athena Pronaia, and their use, history, and evolution, through the eyes of their creators and those who sought answers there. She (our guide) was an expert in Greek mythology and helped us understand how the myths and worship of the gods led directly to construction of the holy sites and impacted the everyday life of the citizens and the decisions of the leaders. If you allow yourself that immersion, Delphi is magical. And the “alpine” village of Arachova where the tour had lunch, and the restaurant chosen by our guide, were lovely. The food was delicious.
Prepay for your meal if you want to avoid stressing about having time to eat before getting back on the bus.

Absolutely amazing visit and I recommend Katherina as a guide as she has huge knowledges of the sites and monasteries and personnal interesting anecdotes that makes the trip even more interesting. She is so dedicated that she was working during easter day when we went (which is a big family celebration not to be missed in Greece). We are very grateful for her to have given us so much of her time and helped us learn so much about the site history :) I will definitely recommend to anyone going to Greece to visit this place (a Unesco site btw), it is a MUST-DO in Greece.

This 4 hour tour provided exactly what we had hoped for: an extensive overview of the context for the great ruins and monuments of the Acropolis and the Ancient Agora, and other nearby sites. Our tour guide was very informative and did not hold us too long at any of the stops for narrative. He kept it moving at a comfortable pace and always checked to see that we were all keeping up without difficulty. The only two improvements I would like to suggest is, 1.) that he not use an iPad for showing pictures as it was a cloudless day and the sun's brightness made it nearly impossible to see the illustrations he was showing. Printed pages would have worked more effectively. 2.) that a microphone system be considered due to the crowds and background noise that sometimes made it difficult to hear his voice.

The only hiccup for this trip was at the beginning. The pickup from the hotel was about 20 minutes late. Outside of that, the rest of the trip was great. Even though it was overcast most of the day, the atmosphere on board was sunny enough to compensate. The snacks provided throughout the day were delicious and we never ran dry on beverages. The first stop (the smaller island) was picturesque. Walking the trails toward the "secret beach" was worth it, with the trail opening onto some incredible vistas of the island cliffs. The second stop at the swimming spot was great as well. Diving off of the boat was just the right activity to work up an appetite and the traditional Greek barbecue was great. The third stop on the large island was an excellent way to cap things off. The pistachio ice cream was to die for and the local archeological site was wonderful to walk through. All in all, it was an incredible experience and one that I would consider doing again.

Dimos was our tour guide and he couldn’t have been nicer. I was touring with my 83 year old mom and we had a great time. Dimos was so knowledgeable and kind. He took us everywhere. Remember in Greece the tour guide drivers are not allowed to go into sites with you. But Dimos told us about everything we were going to see and exactly where to go. When we came out he was right there. If you want a tour guide to go in with you that would require two guides. With Dimos you really don’t need that. I didn’t understand it either until I did a tour. We saw so much and I have a much better understanding of Athens all due to Dimos. He even got us right next to the guards at the changing of the guards. I have a new Greek friend who treated us so kindly.

Definitely worth the €15 to see an overview of Athens and learn about the sites. We checked in with attendants at the Plaka stop, waited about 10 minutes, then got on and stayed on for the full round.

It was not clear if they actually made a full stop at each location (perhaps not if no one was waiting?) so I suggest making it known you want to get off ahead of time to be sure they stop long enough. We did not have any audio issues as others had mentioned.

This tour was packed with information about the architecture, the history, the stories of the people from different eras, and the restoration efforts to keep this monument around for years to come. Vicky was our guide, and she explained all of the above with finesse and in a way that was very relatable. Without her guidance, we would not have appreciated the Acropolis in all its wonder. It is truly an awesome monument.
