Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Neil KLiverpool, UK829,468 contributionsThe newly revamped Omonia Square looks superb now and the centrepiece of this square is Omonia Square Fountain.
This is one of the largest water fountains in Europe by volume of water ,a 30 metre round fountain ,water is thrown into the air to the height of 20 metres ,it has a total of 188 water jets and 177 underwater lights,we visited the Omonia District to visit some pubs in this eclectic area and with temperatures hitting the mid 90's the fountain looked so inviting ,I truly felt like walking into the fountain ,it was that hot ,it's a beautiful fountain and well worth checking out if you're near Omonia Square.Written 20 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The Gardens themselves are lovely and you can walk around the meandering paths, exploring the grounds for some time. However the fountain is not a highlight and is just one of several water features, sculptures and statues here.
The marble fountain was commissioned in the 19th century by Evangelos Zappas, a Greek philanthropist and one of the key founders of the modern Olympic Games. It was designed by the German architect Friedrich von Gärtner as the main feature of the gardens that surrounded Zappeion Hall.
It consists of a large central bowl, with an octagonal surround. Jets of water shoot from the middle of the bowl and in a ring around it. Smaller, overlapping, finer jets of water form a second outer ring. A black metal fence keeps people at a distance and detracts from the appearance.
The best position to view the fountain is to stand behind it, with Zappeion Hall as a backdrop. This makes a nice photo.
The Gardens are free to enter.Written 7 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There's no information available about the fountain but I'm guessing it's been here for many years ,it's cute, eye catching and makes for some great photographic opportunities and is well worth checking out if you find yourself on Kidathineon .Written 26 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
