Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

For modern art lovers, this small, well labelled museum is a must see. The comparisons to Modigliani, Brancusi and others with these 4000 year old figures are stunningly obvious, making your visit both informative and delightful. Note that the main entrance is on a side street, not the obvious entry on the avenue.

Having not seen any TA reviews of the café, I would add my take.

With fresh ingredients, cheerful service and an interesting menu selection, the Café is a great choice for a visit to the museum. (The immediate neighborhood is virtually taverna-free.)

After a prosecco toast, I enjoyed the salmon tartar; my wife had spaghetti. We split a lemon tart from the selection of fresh pastries. With another glass of wine and espresso, the tab came to $77.

One note for expectations: this is a great example of where marketing photography is a triumph. With about a dozen tables, the café actually looks past the ticket counter and gift shop to the street. The “garden” is a large room-wide planter with a mirrored backdrop. It is, nevertheless, a contemporary setting and surprisingly quiet. That said, we very much enjoyed our lunch.

If in Athens, a do not miss is Pandora Art Gallery in Plaka! Every piece in this gallery is amazing. I purchased two clay sculptures made by a legendary local Athenian artist. The pieces were shipped to my home in the US in pristine condition. Very professional and knowledgeable staff. Unique, quality art at very reasonable prices.

How to find words that encompass Lalaouns’ connection to nature, humanity and spiritual webs we are all a part of intimately. Big and Bold. Infinitesimal and critical. An artist working on many levels, in many dimensions - sometimes independently, sometimes simultaneously. Beautiful jewelry - yes, of course. But, also so much more.

Obviously you need to be interested in Islamic art to go here. There is a huge portion of pottery, but also some very nice other types of Islamic art pieces from the Benaki collection. At the top there is a very cozy cafe with nice service and view.

Excellent customer service from the minute we walked into store. I needed something from their second location and they walked me to the other store! They stand by their products as I had a problem with an item purchased on a previous trip one year ago and they replaced a stone that had fallen out. This is a first rate operation.

Me and and my husband walked here up from Athens market, the area isn’t very nice on the way up, but when you get to the museum it’s a lot nicer with places to sit and restaurants.
The gallery is free to get in, when we went it was showing Greek expressionism artists, it was a lovely collection and enjoyed seeing the work so up close and personal. The security guard does follow you around but you only notice as you will probably be the only ones there.
They have a book on the desk with all the art in but they don’t seem to have it for sale there which is a shame as I would of loved to of had one to explore more Greek artists. It’s worth a visit if you are into art, if not it’s probably not worth your effort.

Some very interesting art in this modern building. Unfortunately the day I visited, so did hundreds of school children in various groups, so it was very difficult to get near the paintings. I thought I would retreat to the restaurant and come out later when they had gone, but they descended on the restaurant and basically took over the place. I returned to the exhibition halls and it was lovely and quiet. It is difficult to find the lift and the staff were not very helpful.

Well, I love modern art - but this place was very disappointing. Nice building and good bar/cafe on the top floor - but only two floors of exhibitions despite the huge size of the place - and what there was, was complete modern b-llocks. Not worth the €8 entrance fee.

A visit to Athens will usually include the big ticket museums but this small focused museum is well worth a visit
Situated in Platia Agion Assomaton it is easily reached and is a permanent exhibition of the works of Alex Mylona the pioneer of the Greek modernist movement.
An added bonus at the moment is the retrospective exhibition of the works of Ira Waldron and this temporary exhibition (Until Sep 1) is carefully exhibited and includes some really fine examples of her later works

Hidden in the heart of Athens on 3 Kriezotou St, just off Panepistimiou St, and across from the Hotel Grande Bretagne there is a little museum dedicated to the work of Nikos Hadjikyriakos-Ghikas (1906-1994), his works can also be found in the New York Met and the London Tate Gallery. Among his paintings and sculptures we can find works from other Greek and International artists of his time, giving us an interesting representation of Art in the 20th century.
The museum is a delightful oasis in the heart of this busy city,

In walking distance from "Larissa station" (red line-Subway) this museum offers the family collection of the artists artworks, in two floors.

You pay an extra ticket to get to the last floor apartment where the personal belongings of Fassianos are displayed, a very unique experience, where photos are not allowed. Don't miss this tour.

You don't need more than an hour for both, and it is worth your time.

Paintings on the first floor were nice and interesting. This is what I consider art. After that I was rather disappointed. Even the Goulandris Foundation that I visited a few years ago was considerably better. No comparison to other national galleries such as Britain’s
