Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Spectacular and highly recommend it. We didn't use any of the guides because everything was simply exceptional. We spent a long time looking around and in awe of everything. It was the highlight of our experience especially since we had the worst hotel ever. The Acropolis compensated for the worst welcome to Athens and believe me the Acropolis did not disappoint. One recommendation go early, because like this you miss large quest and you have better pics with less people around

This modern museum is well worth a visit. In the atrium, there are models depicting the acropolis and it's buildings from archaic times to the medieval period. The exhibits are grouped appropriately by period and where possible by building. The museum itself is an architectural triumph with fabulous views of the acropolis itself. The concept of the upper floor is brilliant, but we won't mention the elephant in the room!
Remember, that your ticket allows you to access the archaeological dig beneath the building.
The only downside is the cost €20 per person although there are concessionary rates for certain groups.

Beautiful historical architecture and 1 of the main reasons I visited Athens. Am so glad I visited off-season as I can not imagine the crowds you have to squeeze through during peak season. A must visit even though under some renovation and maintenance

If you are headed to Athens, make time to visit Plaka. You will want to spend the day walking through the area (it is a lot of walking). From wonderful ruins, great restaurants and shops to art galleries, street vendors, coffee shops and outdoor areas it will be a fantastic experience to make your trip even better! We were not expecting Plaka to have so much and for us to enjoy it the way we did!!

My family and I are huge Olympic fans, was in awe once entering the stadium, it's really so stunning and is everything I hoped it would be and more. The marble is so beautiful almost blinding. We enjoyed a little run on the tracks and just take in the beauty of everything. I did not leave disappointed

We were lucky that the temperature was in the low twenties so we could walk to the top. Just take your time and enjoy the views on the way up. I think this is much better than taking the funicular. There is also a greater feeling of satisfaction. The view of the Parthenon on the way is magnificent.

Truly a terrific museum and despite usually being technically challenged, the app added real value to my visit and worked well for me. A number of areas were closed when we visited in December, but there was already so much to see I don't think we could have taken much more in anyway. The collection of Minoan, Cycladic and ancient art is truly outstanding - don't skimp on your stay.

Great place to visit in winter as no queues or crowds. Interesting archaeology ruins and museum.

Only negative was that there were only 3 ladies toilets on site. There were queues today, so it must be bad in peak periods.

Free water bottle filling stations were a great idea.

Wear trekking boots, as paths are uneven and muddy after rain.

There are no handrails on the stairs to the temple, which isn't safe. Very little attention to tourist safety which was a surprise (eg. Fences, hand rails, non slip surfaces).

This was such a surreal experience. Beautiful in every sense, wish we could have went in but was still amazing nonetheless. Definitely a top attraction in Athens to visit

For white buildings at Anafiotika quarter, walk uphill road next to Acropolis Museum from Plaka. Some people had difficulty finding this quint place. I saved St George on the Cliff church on my google map and it is way easier that way.

You will just need to make a loop from this landmark. Be mindful as real people still live here. So limit your noise when visiting.

    Be aware of pickpockets!
(Anafiotika quarter is the placed where workers/builders from Cyclades island came for job in Athens and settled. Since I do not have time to visit Mykonos, this is the closest I can get with Whitewashed houses.)

We visited Monastiraki with my boyfriend and really enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere! The narrow streets are full of small shops, vintage items, and cozy cafés. Our walk was wonderful, especially with the beautiful view of the Acropolis, though it’s good to stay alert in some busier spots where it can feel a bit crowded. Despite that, it’s a unique experience, and we’d love to visit again!

Well worth the climb. We went up through the trees and not path set out, a bit scrambling needed but worth it for views every time we stopped to catch our breath. We made it to the monument. Views from here at a 360o degree angle cannot be beaten no other view of the Acropolis and all other the city can beat it. Wander back down proper path and you will find the Pnyx and Socrates prison. A highlight of our trip to be up here.

Loved the temple, so beautiful and the 6 maidens are definitely the highlight. My daughter was obsessed as Athina is her favorite
