For our first trip to crete we decided to do it all on our own, informing ourselves, do the booking and rental contracts etc which was easy. We had our hotel in the eastern part of the island and we managed to see most of the sights in ~a week. Then we decided to take a short trip to Chania and due the the short time get professional guidance. Their USP in my eyes is that they are native speakers in german and greek - that was the crucial point for us to choose.
First of all I have to say that all my expectations were exceeded. Martina and Nikos gave us such a warm welcome and showed us around in Chania, also in small streets and places most tourists probably won´t find. After having a frappée in a café we made a litte shopping tour in the old town and and finished the evening in an awesome restaurant we also would not have considered if Nikos would not have recommended.
The Next day they took us to a small beach near Elafonissi which surreal blue water and only some locals. This was really paradise. After that, to get a contrast we went to Elafonissi to see the tourists laying next to each other under sundbeds for 20€ - so we obviously made the better deal.
Log story short - I f we had known this before, we would have planned the trip diretly to Chania and booked more tours with Martina and Nikos. Now we have no other choice to come back here later in the year to see more of this beautiful island and explore the secret spots with Crete Insiders. Full Recommendation! Totally worth the money! Simply the fact, that you evade the risk to land in a dissappointing restaurant after an awesome day pays it all off :-)
Thanks guys and see you soon, hopefully!
