Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very impressive building indeed unfortunately for us there was a service going on when we were going past and our schedule didn't allow us time to visit before our train back to Copenhagen. It was a very interesting walk around noting the added on parts that had been built through centuries and how they fitted in very well unlike some that you see.

Inside is the tombs of many of the Danish Royal Families but as said we didn't manage to visit. Certainly at the weekends it maybe worthwhile to check on the service schedule and other Cathedral functions. There are art galleries in close by old Royal Palaces and the other Roskilde Kirk and square which had a lovely open market on the Saturday we visited.

We visited this museum and were very impressed with the layout of the ships in the museum as it is quite small to hold these 5 ships and the other parts of the museum. We caught the film as well as we went back to it halfway through our walk around the museum. There are guided tours available in English and other languages at different times of the day. Unfortunately we didn't have time for one due to our rough schedule in Roskilde. Still the walk thro the 5 galleys and the displays on why they were needed to be sunk and the story of Roskilde's defense was very well done and informative.

The is a interesting display after you have completed the Galley tour and it would be great fun for the kids sailing in their own galley! The shop was well laid out and lots of interesting items to purchase. After the museum you can walk over to the small Viking Harbour where the seagoing galleys are kept our in our case laid up for the winter due to the time of our April visit. Still it is a good reason for a revisit to get a sail on a Viking Galley. The is a coffee shop over here and other things to see before you leave here. It would have been 5 star trip if we had got a sail but not this time i'm afraid.

Great place to be reminded of how things were in the old days and for younger people to experience how life was way before they were born.

The weather does not matter! Rainy, sunny, windy, hot or cold north European summerdays and nights, been at the festival with in all, and I always had a great time. Even though you don't know all the bands in the line up, you will get a nice surprise if you show up to any conserts. The atmosphere is awesome, the food is awesome, the crew is awesome. No fights, only happy drunk and sober people enjoying music together 😄🇩🇰❤

Lovely small city with beautiful harbor and wonderful Viking museum. Terrific walking and biking. Very historic and beautiful church whose towers could be seen from many vantage points. Pleasant town square with good food and lots of activity. Easy train ride to Copenhagen.

Small beach area but the water was clean and warm. Local people were friendly. We found a quiet area to eat our lunch. A lovely break after the museum.

Never been to such a display. This museum manages to be really entertaining while teaching about the development of rock music - especially in DK. I loved the interactive activities!

The old gas gasworks are now used as a studio and gallery for glass works (gas - glass!!!) and you can either just watch or actually buy things.

Before getting to the permanent exhibits we had a look at the temporary displays. On the theme of waste, we saw a carpet made from discarded rags and fibres. Another was Burning Waste, referencing a major September 2020 fire at a waste plant.

Prehistory is covered from a skeleton of aurochs from more than 6000 BCE, and many other artefacts from long ago, including items from graves.

Schooling is a further category. Well used school desks in a classroom hark back to a previous time. While black and white photographs, including those of eager kids, are evocative.
