Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This imposing structure in red is within walking distance of the train station and situated in the banks of the lake.

Lovely glass artefacts inside from the 20th and 21st century.

Worth a visit if you are in the town. All sights are within walking distance as the museums are just a few minutes away from the Cathedral.

I came in here mainly for the glass museum but a stroll around the rest of the place was well worth the effort as well. All the areas I saw had extremely well laid out and described exhibits. Obviously, all had signage in Swedish but there was also considerable signage in german and english.
The glass museum was excellent with a complete history of glassmaking in Sweden right up to the modern era with a comprehensive display of pieces from all periods. There were some absolutely stunning pieces both creatively and technically. I didn’t visit the other museum included in the ticket price but what I saw here was worth the entrance fee for sure. Highly recommended.

This museum was full of interesting information and access to interesting videos. But a beautiful building in a modern city in an affluent country, it’s somewhat difficult to imagine the despair that pushed so many to emigrate. It would’ve been a really good idea to not only have photos but an actual physical representation of the conditions.

I study at the university next to this castle and grew up as a child in the neighborhood of Teleborg, so I am a local. It is a beautiful castle to watch from the outside. Unfortunately it has a hotel and restaurant inside so it is not possible to go inside and explore it freely. The surroundings are good for a walk, 35-50 min walk from the city center, local buses are also available.

This museum contains lots of historical items from the area over different periods. It's a good activity probably for children. Not all the information is in English, but there is enough in English to get the main idea. Interesting displays. Same ticket as the Emigrants House and glass museum, so worth a quick look in.

Ă…snens natinalpark is a beautiful place and there are several different hiking paths to choose from. They are not very long, between 0,3 and 2,6 km. We did Skogsslingan path (2,2 km), which is very rocky but absolutely stunning. It passes through several different forest types and part of it runs along the shoreline of lake Ă…snen. There are information boards along the way, telling you about the history, vegetation and wildlife of the region.

Perfect place to stop en route to many of the other local attractions. Had we more time we may have gone on one of the three meadow walks around the gardens and lake. From 1km to 3km I believe. Next time.

This is not a must see destination, but if you like having moments to be silly and playful, then the Teleborg water tower is worth the quick stop. Do a bit of shuffling in the gravel while drumming on a water bottle and making sounds and you have all the makings of a fun memory.

This such a beautiful old church! When we visited it for the second time, new details caught the eye. The 14th century statues, the metaphors for the seven virtues, the German texts… Really great!

This lovely church is still standing as it once did and in use for services and concerts thanks to stubborn farmers way back then who did not let go of their beautifully painted wooden church and an acceptant church today respectful of it's history. Open for visitors all summer and still in use as one of the churches in the area.

My husband and I spent a few hours here enjoying the trees, the lake, and the well-defined trails. If you have the time while in Vaxjõ, I highly recommend a bit of forest-bathing in Bokhultet. (Also, parking is free!)

I live in a city called Växjö, which has about 70,000 residents. Växjö is a green expansive city with a renowned environmental policy. Växjö is currently working on building more apartments and houses as part of Växjö's goals to accommodate 30,000 new residents by 2030.

I have visited the Observation Tower several times over the past few years. The views are always stunning in every season and there is quite some historic items in the tower itself.
