Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There are many tours that offer to show you the Northern Lights, but this one had the highest rating for customer service & I can see why.
    1) they do small groups (no more than 19) so it feels more friendly and personal
    2) the comfort of the trip, hot chocolate & cinnamon buns which were delicious & snugly warm blankets, so welcome when freezing outside
    3) they will continue to take you out each evening until you get to see them.
I did have a slight problem with getting our last trip confirmed but it was all sorted in time.
    4) the actual guides are so knowledgeable, we had Daniel our first night but due to do much cloud & the science it was just not going to g to happen - rather than keep out he called it off around 11.40 & got us back to our hotel at a reasonable time, the 2nd night weather was worse (& so was our guide.. not naming names) 3rd night it seemed all trips were cancelled & the weather was rubbish for seeking the magical lights so it was all down to our last night.
We were picked up by Sigi & he was fab… he had been researching the Aurora’s & could see there was a break in the cloud to the north… we travelled a couple of hours, checking cloud cover, magnetic readings etc all the time he was funny & informative.
Then when we were travelling back he pulled over as he could see a break in the clouds and wow - there they were.. we stayed as long as we needed, he also took photos of us with the lights behind.
Everyone was so happy especially as some of us were going home the next day… not only that but 1/2 later on our way back he could see them again & asked if we wanted to stop again - of course we did & we got another bundle of photos - completely exhausted by the end of it but it was so amazing. Sigi really did make our holiday

It was a long day but worth it. We were advised to hire a car and do the sights ourselves but in doing that, you don’t get the benefits of the driver and her knowledge of where we are going and what history has been there. I’m glad we took the bus tour. We had to take a detour to get to the blue lagoon due to the volcano and damage to the most direct road but the extra driving was worth it to experience the blue lagoon. Very relaxing and great way to end the day. Thank you to Heldi who was our driver/tour guide.

What an incredible experience! My boyfriend and I booked last minute and I’m so glad we did. First of all, we were not sure where to park on arrival to the harbour and the very friendly staff at the ticket office were more than happy to help direct us. When we then boarded the boat for our tour we were introduced to all the staff and made to feel very welcome and comfortable. The boat also offers complimentary sea sickness tablets for those who need them, as well as cosy overalls and blankets free of charge as it can get very chilly on board! All children are also provided with life jackets on arrival free of charge. Our tour guide was marine biologist Pedro who was very friendly and knowledgeable and gave us lots of information about the behaviour of the marine life we encountered as well as making sure to signpost us to the best areas of the boat for viewing to make sure nobody missed out. My boyfriend and I were unsure whether we would see many whales as we know that these things can be unpredictable but we were absolutely amazed by the sheer volume of humpback whales we saw!! Our first sighting was as early as around fifteen minutes into the trip and from then onwards we lost of count of how many we were able to spot! We even got to see plenty of fluke dives too! It was an unparalleled experience and I can’t stress enough how incredible it was to see the whales in their natural habitat. There is also a bar on board with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, soft drinks and snacks which I would definitely recommend for keeping warm! Thank you to Pedro and our captain Otto for such an excellent trip!

Loved this day tour with wonderful guide Lili. It was a perfect way to spend layover in Reykjavik. We saw a lot of the amazing natural phenomena in South/East of Iceland - geysers, frozen waterfalls, Secret lagoon. Visit to National Park was first stop early in day - fascinating but due to rain and fog difficult to see and fully appreciate the tectonic plates and geography. Driving around and seeing the landscape was awesome. Got to pet some Icelandic Ponies! Highly recommend if you want to fill a day getting a general sense of the area. Chose smaller group bus and glad we did - more people more wrangling. Bus seats were a tight fit cos of heavy jackets. Wish we remembered to bring the crampons - it was very icy and slippery. Lili was a very helpful and knowledgeable guide.

Absolutely worth it! Thank you Devin! Ok to start: YES we did see the lights but even if we hadn’t seen this amazing dancing miracle in the sky we would have had so much fun on the journey and “hunt” that’s more like *fishing* because our Tour guide Devin made every bit of it super fun while responsibly managing our expectations.

This is a natural phenomenon that no one can control, so it’s a bit of luck and the right conditions. It all worked out and we look forward to our pictures.

    Here’s what we loved:
    - we were picked up promptly, our guide had a list with our name on it. Zero chance of mix up.
    - we got an email confirmation at around 16:30 that the Tour was on (meaning conditions were favorable)
-the bus was comfortable, right temperature, not crammed or overbooked
    - we got lucky that where we stopped to see the lights was all to ourselves,
Devin picked the spot after making some expert decisions in reading the night sky!
    - in addition to witty banter and commentary Devin taught us on the bus how to set our phones and cameras to see and photograph the lights. Amazing! Also he had a GREAT camera and you totally don’t need to concern yourself but you can have fun with it
    - our guide KNEW wtf was up, we had been to Iceland before and had tried to see the lights on our own - I strongly recommend a guide bc without a trained eye you might miss out on the signs for the night show!
    - the pastries and hot chocolate were delicious and a lovely treat in the cold night

    What we didn’t love:
Nothing! It was all so genuinely well organized and delivered. Like I said, even if we hadn’t seen the lights I would have been satisfied with the service

For those comparing super jeep, big bus, and boat with mini bus (east west) going off road is not a huge advantage, your guide knowing how to read the sky is more of an advantage imo. The big bus would probably have been too crowded. The boat rocks and pictures are not so clear because you need time and stability (you can’t see the lights brightly with a naked eye so this is important!)

So all in all. Five stars. Devin is a rock star. Would recommend 13/10.

What an amazing experience! Snorkeling between the tectonic plates is so beautiful. The views are Zen like. Our guide Wilmar was absolutely fantastic. A great guide to put us at ease, teach us and help us all have a great and safe time!

This was friggin' off the hook! We went just a few days ago Feb. 7, 2024! We had the perfect sunny day. But it would not have mattered. The views, the majestic views cannot even be described, The ICE, oh-my the ICE! The color of the frozen water, with the bluish green glacier ice statues reaching out, was amazing, it was a once in a lifetime experience (unless you live there, I guess). And then we climbed up onto the glacier, learning about formations from our guide, crawling through ice tunnels, walking up ice stairs. Once we reached our apex, we all stood quiet. And we could hear the under-ice waterfalls! Craziness! It is nature and earth at its finest! Ha...and then went to Black Sand beach...Amazing! The soft black sand is definitely something thing you want to put your fingers in. But then, go toward the black pebble shoreline and listen to the back draft as the water drains back between the pebbles after the wave. Is a super cool sound! We also visited 2 of the most popular waterfalls in the area. This was a great 12 hour tour 8am to 8pm, and you MUST DO IT!

Phenomenal sights and a great trip! Our driver was very knowledgeable and we spent the 6 hours chasing the lights around the area. She didn’t want to play at first but then she started to show her greens and purples. Trip finished at 2 and as we left about 1:45 Lady Arora decided she was going to grace us with her splendour. Our guide stayed and we got to experience it first hand. What an amazing experience! You never forget your first xx

Unfortunately our initial trip was cancelled due to poor weather conditions. We were informed before 4pm that day, however communication was good from the operator. We were offered the chance to reschedule to the following day which we accepted. We drove out to the Bridge between Two Continents where our guide, Richie, had figured we would get the clearest view. The weather was poor across the peninsula and as far as I am aware, we were the only group to see the stars. Once there, Richie set up a fire pit and provided hot chocolate which was an absolute welcome bonus. Richie helped people set up their phones for capturing the lights. Unfortunately, cloud cover prevented us from seeing any and when it was clear, no lights were seen. Richie did walk everyone down to the Bridge between Two Continents which felt like another extra which was lovely. Finally, we headed back, and even then we tried to get somewhere else to see them, but unfortunately the weather was too poor. Upon arriving back, we were also invited to book onto another trip free of charge. We did, however weather cancelled this also, with the company offering any other date. Ultimately, if the weather isn't good enough they won't waste their/your time taking you out. Hopefully we are able to rebook on a return trip and get another opportunity!

We had a blast! My boyfriend was our driver and I got to take in all of the views! It was absolutely beautiful and the team was very helpful in getting us all geared up and educated for our drive. We stopped at some beautiful spots along the way for pictures and to take in all of the beauty
