- DorsetFoodyDorset, UK260 contributionsWe popped in for an afternoon drink and were surprised how cheap it was. €3.50 for a gin and tonic. If you drank the 4 different beers on tap it was €10. Staff and owner were very friendly. Obviously there is some notoriety about the pub with a well known actor and the Royal Navy and keeping some memorabilia is a draw for some people and an experience for others. We enjoyed our afternoon drink and would happily return if in Valletta again. Wow! Valletta really is a truly stunning city.
The Christmas markets were still on and looked great, however we wanted to spend our day exploring everything the city had to offer.
You can spend hours ambling around the beautiful little streets, in awe of the amazing buildings. There are several Churches to pop in also.
Plenty restaurants to choose from, some expensive but that is as to be expected from being in a capital city.

It was OK, the food 8/10 - lasagna was 9/10 and pizza nothing special 6-7/10. - johnboy1965Sheffield, UK162 contributionsWe went to this bar for the Elvis tribute acylt and to watch football. The staff are very friendly, the atmosphere in the pub is really good . The Elvis tribute act was great and we had a brilliant night. They bring round complimentary food as well chips onion rings etc which was a a really nice touch. - Manjot R17 contributionsLovey views and slightly expensive drinks are to be expected in this place. We visited on a Friday night and had a wonderful night- it was a delightful change from the main area of noise, commercial loud pop and teenagers!
The crowd is older people, drinks are not watered down, music is good, no one hassles you and you have room to sit down at tables and talk.
We paid an entrance fee of €15, it did get us a free glass of Prosecco which was appreciated!
The staff were ok, no one was overly friendly or rude. We had a hot chocolate drink which was different from any we’ve had before, was delightful.
The owner was also very pleasant, knowledgeable & precise.
We also purchased some coffee beans following his recommendations of the various types.

Only thing is the bouncers at the door seem to give different prices for entry depending on what you look like, so beware of that. The staff were amazing and we was looked after all night, it was welcoming and possibly the best service and prices out of everywhere we visited. Didn’t know what to expect at first because we was just walking by for some drinks. However, we got very positive surprised. The bartender made very tasty cocktails and a the staff was supernice. Fast on the floor and they also took time to talk to us since it was our first time. The night we visited they were playing “rock” music. We asked if we could make some request songs,( club music/ electronic) and was told No at first. But after a while the manager came and asked what we wanted to listen to… that really made our night,
It ended up us staying for 2.5 hours…and we was just going in for 1-2drinks in the beginning.
This is a small and very cozy place and I can really recommend it. Absolute gem of a place with fab decor, great music (and not ridiculously loud) plus fab cocktails. A bonus is the arcade video game machine that is free play! Great chilled out vibes and a lovely atmosphere, thoroughly recommend.

We were made to feel very welcome, and it became our 'local' during our stay in Qawra!
