We saved La Chemin de la Corniche for the end of our self-designed walking tour through Luxembourg City, and really enjoyed the beautiful views from it, some looking down on places we'd recently walked through. The Chemin is a fairly short walkway that overlooks the valley below and has some amazing views and photos available. It's only a few minutes' walk from the Place d'Armes and definitely worth making sure you see it if you're visiting the city.

We experienced the Grund as part of a walk through Luxembourg City. It's a neighborhood located in the lower part of the city, near the river. I believe it's better known for its nightlife, but we enjoyed wandering through it and taking photos of the scenic views during an afternoon. It was definitely nice to experience both upper and lower portions of the city.

Pay respect to thousands American soldiers who died toward the end of WW II in couple months. The crosses were lined in there as soldiers were still standing. Mixed emotions are sad for lost lifes and courage to fight for peace.

I love this lift, it's a great additon to the city. People go up and down, marvelling at the views and cyclists use it to avoid the steep and nasty climb up to city level. And don't forget the lovely toilets conveniently positioned at the foot of the lift. Worth paying for (but it's free). Wander around in Pfafendall, cross over the bridge and bathe your feet in the footbath - great on a hot day.

This cathedral is pretty centrally located in Luxembourg City, a quick walk from the Place d'Armes and other walking areas. You can walk most of the way around the church, and we were able to enter and admire the inside, including the impressive organ and stained glass windows. We only had time for a quick visit, about 10 minutes, but we were happy to get a taste of this beautiful building.

This is a World Heritage Site.
Luxembourg's old quarters and fortifications. The city itself was founded in 963 and has played a significant role in European history throughout the centuries.

We came during winter so weren't able to visit the tunnels but we were able to walk around the top parts and get some amazing views of the city.

This is a must if you are in Luxembourg.

We walked across both this bridge and the Passerelle as part of our self-designed walking tour through Luxembourg City. On one side you are pretty near the Gelle Fra, which is worth seeing, as well as a walkway down into the valley below. The views from the bridge, both into the valley, and across to the other side, are also beautiful. Definitely worth including on your walk around the city.

On Saturday 12th of March 2022 we enjoyed a great visit to the mnha, especially because of the Norouz = discovery day because of the Iranian New Year.

Iranian music, culinary specials from Iran, special activies (workshops, poetry, dance, Haft Sîn, calligraphy, ....).

Great to enjoy Iranian hospitality and friendly Iranians welcoming visitors to a temporary exhibition which shows pictures taken in Iran, very interesting! Don't forget to take a free brochure giving explanations concerning the pictures on display! Different languages available! (German, French, English).

It was really lovely to see... A grand and handsome building, immaculately maintained of course. Good to see under bright sunshine and blue skies.

It's a really impressive sight, a wonderful building. The glass and modern design is a wonderful contrast to the fort...

The plaza is in the center of downtown and a great place to start your explorations. We found parking nearby and admired the town. There are several dining options here on the plaza, although they're pretty touristy, and we enjoyed getting an ice cream. We were also impressed with the public bathrooms located just off the main square, which were both free and very clean.

A great area where to relax on a bench or strolling among the trees, and a place where children can have a great time on the swings. pity the pirates ship was being refurbished when we were there - but it will definitely be a great attraction when finished

We loved walking up and around this beautiful citadel. Located right next to the Abaye, it is well constructed and a great compliment to the area.

    Interesting, however small, museum.
You learn a lot about the history of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

Also temporary exhibits. Museum is on different floors and might seem chaotic in some places. Don't miss the outstanding view of the "corniche" from the panoramic terrace. Elevator is "special" too.

Entry fee is low (3-5 Euros).
    Free cloakroom.
    Friendly staff.
Serious safety rules concerning covid (check the actual situation on their website).
Located in the pedestrian zone in the centre of Lux.city, close to the Palais Grand-Ducal.

This place is not large, but it was worth a stop for some nice views and to see the various flags flying over it. From it you can see the Pont Adolphe (and vice versa), as well as down into the river valley below. It's also near the Gelle Fra monument. We were happy we took a few minutes to stop by and enjoy the views during our self-designed walking tour around Luxembourg City.
