What an amazing property this is ! Didn't even know it existed until a TV programme on Look North pointed it out. It's in the lovely village of Wentworth near Elsecar near the M1 / A61 junction. there was a classic car show on there today as well - they do have quite a few events, but we just went to see the mining exhibition in the house itself. The house has more frontage than Buckingham Palace and about 57 acres of gardens ( too wet to visit them today though) - with the oldest camelias in the West, apparently. Lovely tea room and cafe so there's lots to do and not too pricey either. The volunteer staff are great - very knowledeable and helpful too. Well worth a visit.

Clifton Park in Rotherham proved to be an exceptional venue for The Reytons' all-day festival. The park's spacious and well-maintained grounds provided an ideal setting for the event, accommodating the lively crowd with ease. The atmosphere was electric, enhanced by the abundance of food and drink options catering to all tastes. The park's layout facilitated smooth movement and access to various stalls and amenities, ensuring a comfortable experience for all attendees. Overall, Clifton Park showcased its versatility and charm, making it a fantastic choice for large-scale events and live music. I hope they do more.

As you get unlimited visits for a year with your initial entrance I have taken my 10 year old nephew twice this year. He loves the place but because of the fact it's an old steel works. He loves the vastness and the history of the building. We are planning to go back in the summer holidays so we can do the steelworks tour.
As a science adventure centre it sadly doesn't reach it's full potential. If you're going with younger children who just want to run round pressing buttons it's fine. It's a real shame as it could be so much more. There needs much more aimed at the older children and more made of the old steelworks element. The big melt - a hourly show based around the electric furnace is a bit of a light touch and could be so much better.
The food is reasonably priced and hot food cooked to order.

Thought I'd take my husband who'd never been before, and I'd told him of the 2 headed kitten (which hasn't really got 2 heads, but 2 bodies) we weren't disappointed. A friendly member of staff got chatting to us and relayed alot of the house/museum history, like our own personal guide- fantastic. Had a great morning. Thank you

Parked in the village car park and started our walk at the church. On to the Main Street where we called at the village shop. There is a tearoom and a couple of pubs along with the post office. Nice walk along the lane behind the cricket field and past the windmill house. Went on to Wentworth Woodhouse and eventually up to Hoober Stand. Lovely walk.

It was my daughter’s 3rd birthday and she’s fascinated by animals and this experience seemed good for her. We opted for the VIP Tour and at first I was apprehensive as the price was lower than what I would expect so I expected a mediocre experience but something the kids would enjoy which was fine.

When we got there, we were greeted by the kindest person Toby. Toby was so accommodating to us and brought the kids out of their shells. He was brilliant with our kids who at times can be shy, but he made them feel so welcome and confident around the animals.

The experience itself was beyond anything I would’ve imagined for that price. It was so interactive and hands and my kids felt so special especially my daughter on her birthday. They did so much! We as adults thoroughly enjoyed it - the whole experience was unforgettable.

Toby made the experience even better by just being a great host and a kind person. He is a credit to the Farm and we wish him great success in the future. He allowed us to create some fantastic memories as a family and that is worth more than anything.

We will return to the farm very soon and do it all again as the kids couldn’t stop talking about it. What a great find!

The park is vast and there is a huge amount going on especially associated with water sports. I visited to visit the little miniature railway. Not the most excitin but a very good length of track and so quite a long ride. Fairly straight with loops at each end and for the moment little of excitement being passed. I feel it will get better as the lineside matures - hopefully. Staff absolutely delightful. Doesnt operate in poor weather.

Roche Abbey is a lovely spot. The abbey is a ruin with only a small percentage left standing. But the real joy of the place is the surroundings. The setting feels very remote without being so at all.
The countryside is peaceful and the walks nearby are tranquil and relaxing. The abbey is a great spot for a good old ramble and a picnic. Take a flask, or something stronger to sip and have a break.
History, peace and quiet, greenery, nature. What's not to like?

It all depends on what you want from here. If it’s a lovely walk around a Great Lake and wildlife in abundance then this is for you. However check with the place and if they answer your phone call you will be able to find out what the council have shut down this week for a couple of weeks. Sorry but very poorly managed

Had my daughter’s 5 th birthday party here today . First time we have been and it won’t be the last . It was absolutely brilliant . We had a face painter and glitter tattoos, the kids loved it .
The lady who did most of the entertaining was brilliant . Wish I had got her name .
Everyone had a good time and my daughter was so happy . 😁well worth the money .

This was a trip that was organised at the start of the year. And after a good summer and fantastic start to September. Who would have guessed it a washout.
But what a surprise we had what a wonderful day it was. OK the rain didn't help but this place is amazing the cafe with lovely coffee tea and cakes scones. All homemade and absolutely divine. This place is very fairly priced, and very homely. We had a homemade soup of the day and a roll. And all made from produce from there own gardens. We finished of with buying some home made jam. The staff are all volunteers working hard to keeping everything running perfectly. An amazing place for all, A big thank you to all at the amazing
    Windthrop Gardens.

Popped in for a coffee after seeing the board outside. Lovely church, clearly very historic, but unfortunately the information panels were blocked by tables and chairs so I wasn't able to read them. The back of the church was very cluttered with stuff, and whilst I would have liked to look around the building, the sign adjacent to the coffee table advised that only volunteers could proceed beyond that point.
The chap serving the coffee was pleasant though, and the coffee was nice, and good value at only £1.
