Great museum, really well laid out and presented, with all exhibits in first class condition. The staff were friendly, the cafe was good with plenty of choice. I only had a couple of hours, so concentrated on the exhibits that were my main interest, but will come back when I have more time as there was a useful information panel beside each car that will keep me busy for hours. The F 1 room was excellent! Plenty of disabled parking right outside and very wheelchair friendly inside with a lift up to the motorcycle mezzanine. Personally I would of loved a few ‘modern’ motorcycles from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s too, but you can’t house everything!

This amazing trip which is fun for everyone is a must-do for anyone who even has the slightest interest in planes since it is a great place to learn more and even see helicopters take off in front of your own eyes! We went with a family of 5(3 adults and 2 children ) and had a blast! The only reason I did not rate this excellent experience 5/5 is because sadly it was not very accessible and there were lots of stairs to get to the best things. However, I would still strongly recommend doing this and having a great time learning!

We had a really brilliant couple of hours with Kim last week. The whole family loved it. Kim was so patient and so informative. I was really impressed with her, and the alpacas were amazing. It was great getting to walk them, and to feel their coats and feed them. A really worthwhile fun trip.

Interesting private tour given by one of the family. Fascinating anecdotes on the history of the county, origins of the Apple and perspectives of running an authentic craft business. And the opportunity to taste everything they make from Perry and cider to liqueurs and brandy.

    Thanks Julian!

These gardens were filled with autumn colours. It is peaceful especially near the lily pond. The gardeners must work hard to keep it so beautiful. The refreshment kiosk is very restricted.

Beautiful park right near the centre of Yeovil. Happened on it by chance. Lovely walks and there is a nice cafe.

Just visited the Octagon to see Aladdin . I would like to congratulate everybody for a great time. We really enjoyed the show and it was lovely when the players mixed with the audience. Well done to everybody and thanks for a lovely evening out.

Went here for an evening of entertainment. Saw Emilio Santora with The Creoles as an Elvis Tribute. This guy is awesome. Spot on. The venue was very clean and welcoming. The menu was basic but very good. Something for everyone. Well stocked bar. Staff were very polite and professional. Excellent place to go. Plenty of parking. Great evening

We popped in with the kids on a non-open day expecting to just walk round the station and visit the shop. There were plenty of staff (I'm guessing mainly volunteers) around the car park, and when we asked if the museum and steam train shed were open he said "Well, not really, but I'll show you round".

He showed us into the museum part, and then another chap took over over and gave us a very informative chat on the signalling control panel they are currently restoring, which will be interactive (so you can control trains on a model railway track) by next Summer.

Then the first chap caught us leaving and took us for a tour of train shed, where we chatted to a few of the people working on the steam trains !

Great experience for us and the kids (6 & 8), but obviously could be a bit hit and miss at the moment - next Summer it should be fantastic.

Wonderful area, great facilities, lovely to have cafe but what a shame so boring inside a few arm chairs and coffee tables or some thought into the design would make so much more inviting to want to stay, nothing to coax me to stay thus there is no atmosphere. Lovely people and service but never feel I want to sit inside. Never seems very busy, feel like there is so much more money that could be made. Also very small area outside. If this cafe was made more cosy inside I am sure loads more people would use it. Like I say staff and service no complaints. Mudford recreation is a great space for dog walking with great facilities for kids and sports activities we are lucky to have it.

Excellent nature walk. The walk is currently shut and has been for several years but that only leads to a more magical and surreal experience. The beautiful peace garden standing abandoned and overgrown is a spectacle

When we turned up, we weren’t expecting much. However, when we popped into the cafe, or the reception as it was known, we were blown away with enthusiasm and hospitality.
We were told that we simply must find someone to give us a tour guide. Spin waiting momentarily, we were approached by an incredibly enthusiastic fellow who explained that he would give us a tour. He did firstly ask if we were in a hurry as he did fancy consuming his coffee and cake first! We explained that no, we were in no rush.
As we went into the cafe, as instructed by the aforementioned jolly chap, he thrusted deep into the history and requirements of twine and how paramount it was to the village.
After examining numerous photos and laminated artefacts from the periods, he festered that we must now embrace the outside chill and wonder the site.
He was simply marvellous. His in-depth knowledge, precision and passion shone through him and he is a credit to the site and the whole industry.
Through diesel engines all the way through animal guts and remains, he had the whole audience on the edge of your seat. After approximately an hour of a completely free tour guide, myself and my wife were exhausted from twine. This was quite simply, a must do experience if, and when you visit Yeovil. 10 stars.
