Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

We visited today 11th May 2024 for their 1960s day. What a fabulous day. Got to have a ride on a couple of trams and a trolly bus. Then got to have a ride around Lowestoft on a 1967 leyland bus. What an experience. My children aged 2 and 5 loved every minute of the day. Loads to look at and take in. You must try the cafe. Very good prices. £2 for a tray of chips. More than enough to fill you up for some more bus journeys. Worth every penny for a day out. Will be coming back again for their next special day.

Really good day out. Went with friends and thought we would only be there for a few hours, but stayed the whole day. Lots of animals to see and really enjoyed participating in a Red River Hog experience that we had prebooked. The walk round the marsh area was good too, seeing all the different lemur species and the antelope. The lemur walk through was another highlight, as was the fossa. Loved the hunting dogs who were all up and about trotting around. Also was in the right place at the right time to see a health check training session with the lions. Only thing to fault was a big queue at one of the cafes for hot drinks, but it was Easter hols so probably queues to be expected! Overall a good day out despite rain showers. We will certainly visit again.

An absolute gem of a museum. My Father was heavily involved in the fishing industry and seeing all the models and photos of boats and people he knew made his day. Memories came flooding back to him of a time now long gone.

We had a really lovely day at pleasurewood hills. Loads of parking, all the staff were super friendly and engaging with the children. Its great that we have this so local to us as there are rides that suit all ages.
Its a shame that things like the theatre is no longer being used (i believe it used to be home to a mr blobby show) and the teared seating arena. It could do with these areas and others that you can see via the train being tidied up a bit. All in all a great day out but just needs a bit of tlc in certain areas and to bring back some of the old attractions like the theatre and the go karts 😊 we will be back!

Fantastic place for nature lovers with amazing views and wheelchair friendly country walks. Wildlife in abundance and a lovely little restaurant too. A really massive play area that boys of all ages (and girls) will love and plenty of space for picnics. Some nice things in the shop too.

Really interesting trawler/museum. The man who showed us around was friendly and full of information, he was great at reassuring my 3 year old who was a bit nervous about the steep ladders/steps. Well worth walking along the south pier to have a look around.

Popped in here after a tour on the broads as its nearby. The staff were friendly and it was interesting finding out about the local history from medieval times and Lowestoft during the wars. Entry was free.

Eventually found this wonderful wood with free parking, cafe and long dog walks. Also found another wood on the opposite side of the old golf course which was equally as stunning.
Friendly responsible dog walkers around, in both areas.
Thanks for the interesting carvings around in unexpected places. Keep your eyes open when visiting.

We love going to this lovely theatre. We went for the first time in September 2023, so far we have seen Islands in the stream, ABBA gold and the 60s experience. We have 4 shows booked in feb/march. There is a friendly atmosphere, the refreshments are reasonably priced and we have been thoroughly entertained with the acts.

This is a small local cinema that offers several different showings in a relatively small space. Having said that, the main screen is a decent size, the seating is comfortable, the aisles wide and it is seldom packed. The kids clubs are a great deal and the staff/management really make an effort to accommodate requests and sort out problems. The cinema food isn't great, but when is it ever great? I miss seeing the popcorn being popped and smelling the hot butter like they used to do back in the day, but I never go to the cinema to eat, so have not really sampled much from here. There are certainly bigger, more modern cinemas if that's important to you, but I love the family run feel of this one and have never had a bad experience.

The only good thing about lowestoft is the beach, everything else is just a little more run down than the last time we visited.
