Smarty Art is bursting with ceramic items to paint! Come for an enjoyable catch up with a friend or for a family morning or afternoon out, or perhaps incorporate it in a visit to relatives - bring them all along and everyone can be involved as this is one remaining activity now-a-days that all ages and genders can be involved in at the same time and really enjoy. :) Alternatively, come along and enjoy some therapeutic time out for yourself - immerse yourself in the 'now' and find mindfulness through painting - have fun and relax as well as create a beautiful item to keep, use and enjoy yourself, give away, or perhaps as a special Birthday or Anniversary gift. Baby hand or footprints are also very popular keepsakes and something to cherish for many, many years to come. Everything you need is here - from arty books and inspirational designs to spark your imagination, to a large range of coloured paints, stampers, sponges, stencils and specialty tools. We also have special effect paints which are dead easy to use and look so professional once fired, so however creative (or not!) you're feeling you can still achieve something beautiful. No booking is required - just come along, choose your item and get creative! Our friendly and helpful staff are always here for guidance or help. There's a huge selection available from different shaped mugs and plates to clocks, vases, animal shapes, ornaments and piggy banks. Check out our facebook page, leaflet or pictures posted by other people for an idea of what you can expect! As you will see, we also stock seasonal ranges so you can paint your own scary Halloween decorations, Easter trinkets, beautiful Christmas gifts or lovey-dovey Valentines tokens. Once you've finished, leave your masterpieces with us and we will fire them in our super-hot kiln so that they're the right colours, durable and shiny and have the wow factor!! Then take them home and enjoy them every day... :) If you're just here for the day, you can alternatively choose one of our popular 'take-away' kits that don't need to be fired. Hope to see you soon! :)

Great little museum - lots of interesting exhibits - even our 8 year old was reading the display panels (which he doesn’t usually want to do), dressing up area great (we all had a go at this 😊) and museum staff really welcoming

What a beautiful gallery - we had the pleasure of staying in Grantown on Spey for Hogmanay and popped into the studio. It was filled with a fabulous display of artwork - we were spoiled for choice. Having intended to "just browse" we were welcomed most warmly by Angus Grant. No hard sell, no pretentious atmosphere, just a relaxing setting and a display of quality art, photography and ceramics. We walked away with a stunning oil on canvas by Campbell Bryson called Christmas Woods - a beautiful painting which now hangs on our wall at home as a wonderful reminder of a special place and time. Thank you Angus. Elaine and Colin George

This is such a wee find, like going back in time, all that was missing was a big comfy chair and I wouldn't have left, the kids area is amazing and the owner is brilliant at helping them pick and even reading and singing them stories, a joy of a book shop 🥰

Came here to tick off another Scottish Football ground. It has a high wall all around making it difficult to see the pitch where the Strathy Jags play. It is a small ground with only 1,600 capacity (150 seated).

A lovely warm welcome, cosy fire on a miserable day, friendly competent staff and fabulous, delicious food! Oh - and a nice, spotlessly clean loo.

We had last visited prior to the electrical fire and we were not disappointed. A lovely garden centre with a nice cafe and lovely gift shop too. My hubby enjoyed his cake. 4 star rating given as coffee was bland. We travel around the uk a lot and generally rate places on their coffee! Best coffee was at Rothiemurchus, Aviemore, 5 out of 5. We spent a bit of money at the Speyside Centre and will be back. Would be nice if they could get a wee antique shop back on too.

If ever you happen to be in the beautiful town of Grantown on Spey pop into the craft lounge on the high street. Lots to see, perfect for gift ideas and beautiful and unusual greetings cards. Perfect for Christmas shopping .. I love it.
