Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you’re looking for a fun and hassle free stag weekend, look no further! Book the bunkhouse which is really well equipped and then grab some activities on the Saturday. Highly recommend the battle zone session. The whole weekend went without a hitch and was great fun. Shout out to Tilly for delivering two great fun activities for our group!

Callum made our trip to distilleries so special. My mom and I were on a trip exploring our family history and she doesn’t like scotch. He adjusted the tour to help her find ways she could enjoy it (like eating it alongside walkers shortbread) and also took us off the beaten path to see a pair of highland cows (that made her day). On the scotch front, each distillery was unique and delicious and he was very knowledgeable about the process and what makes certain distilleries special. I’d book with Callum again in a heartbeat.

What an amazing day full of fun, laughter, lots of tastings and a host that knows so much about Scotland, Speyside and whisky's.

David took the four of us around for a full day of whisky tours and tastings. We stared early in the am and went all day until he dropped us off at our hotel around midnight. David arrived promptly on time and kept us on time all day long, which was good as it could be easy to get behind and miss some tours.

We learnt so much about Scotland and the Speyside area. We would not have known about nor stopped at the various places without David taking us to them.

We definitely will be back to Scotland and will call upon David to take us other day adventures.

Thank you David from Judy and the kids.

Two words: Strathspey Tours. I just returned to the US from a month in Scotland and hands down Chris Halliday's tour was the shining moment. He is not only passionate about the region, has countless hours under his belt of researching family history, has published books on the area, but he is also a local. If you are traveling to Strathspey who would you rather guide you, someone who just moved there and only knows what they've read in the same books you've likely read or someone who on both sides of their family trees lived in the area for generations?

Chris offers different types of tours and I chose the bespoke family history tour. I shared with him information on my ancestor, what interested me and he created a custom tour around that. After seeing the itinerary I was so excited the night before I could hardly sleep. He picked me up at my lodging and I spent the entire day wishing I had a film crew to capture it all. If you are going to the area, treat yourself to an amazing experience.

Wife Stella's 77th birthday treat that had been kept secret. I went as well.

Most enjoyable but the gear changing first (walk) to second (trot) was and the other way round was jerky. Maybe Carrbridge needs to get horses with automatic transmission:-)

I enjoyed the walk from grantown east along the spey river and into grantown on spey. Marcus tells some interesting stories about the bridges, buildings and histories of the people and origins of the area. He is also very knowledgeable about the plants growing in the area and uses for these. The walk was well worth doing and an interesting one for anyone to take part in.

My wife and I rented a car and travelled to the Highlands of Scotland. We were staying near Nairn and my wife asked for a tour guide to take us to some historical sites and explain the region to us. David came highly recommended and I can see why! He took us to Fort George and discussed the history behind the Fort. David served in Scotland's armed forces for many years, and had actully spent several years stationed at Fort George. It was amazing! We then travelled to Loch Ness, saw the most amazing views, and had an excellent meal (far better than one would expect in a pub) on the north edge of the Loch. We travelled on to a distillary for a scotch tasting, and then to the Culloden battlefield and David explained more of the history leading up to the battle and the aftermath.

David is a charming and gregarious gentleman. He is an excellent driver, a whiskey expert (he does full blown whiskey tours as well), a Scottish history buff and I am sure much more. We had an outstanding day!

People will normally ask if I would recommend his services and I say yes unreservedly…I just want to ensure that he is available for me when I come back to the UK next year for a whiskey tour!

PS. David and his wife own a B&B which I will definately be staying at during my next visit.
