Four of us just spent two marvelous days exploring Devon with Alex! His knowledge of the area along with his gift of sharing entertaining stories related to the locations greatly added to our experience! We spent time in Wells and Glastonbury, having a fantastic lunch there before hiking up the Glastonbury Tor a bit. The next day we toured Dartmoor Nat’l Park, dined at a classic pub for lunch, then along the coast from Torcross to Dartmouth. Every step of the way Alex shared stories reflecting his personal relationship with Devon. If we return to this area we will certainly reserve a few days to take other tours with Alex!

What a beautiful place for a nice flat walk, bit muddy in places but mostly tarmac walkways, lake, watercourse, loads of wildlife, really enjoyable afternoon out, even a coffee shack in carpark if you want refreshments

This small museum dedicated to Newton Abbott was very interesting to see as being visitors to the town it gave us an insite into the place and how it developed. We were there about an hour and a half and the interactive displays are very good for children snd have been well thought out. We were very pleased to see that the Museum has utilised a former church which has avoided a nice property being demolished or converted into commercial use. One final point is that we also found the sfaff very pleasant and helpful.

We made a late booking for one of the two bedroom dog friendly holiday lodges. The accommodation was perfect. Well appointed , warm, clean and comfortable. It was low season so the park was not busy. Despite the changeable weather we were able to use the lodge as a base to explore Dartmoor. Perfectly situated just outside of town with easy access to all the essentials you may need.
A thoughtful “get you in pack” was provided which included dog treats for the Woof.
Thank you to Clare and Andrew for providing such a comfortable home from home.

Went to see the birds of prey show
Unfortunately the weather was a little windy so couldn't do a display
But have to say enjoyed the walk around
The birds are clearly well looked after.
And it's more of a bird sanctuary to look and help birds so don't be dissapointed
The staff and owner very nice and friendly
And you can tell with the birds they are happy and healthy
So worth a visit even if just to help fund the looking after of these lovely birds
    Well done A+++

We held our wedding reception at Dainton Park Golf Club this Christmas. From start to finish it was a great experience. Emma is wonderful to work with and incredibly responsive. She was supportive, friendly and helpful and seemed to really care. We had some recommendations from them for suppliers who they’ve had experience of too. They all turned out to be great and given how difficult it is to find good people who are willing to work on a wedding at Christmas we were really grateful for that. The food was amazing. The menus is extensive and the food was beautifully cooked. My daughter and I both have dietary restrictions and Dainton couldn’t have done more to go out of their way to accommodate us. The decor was absolutely beautiful and all of the staff were lovely. They made the whole thing so much easier than it might otherwise have been and having that stress taken from you is priceless. If you’re thinking about holding a wedding or special event here don’t hesitate.

We visited twice during our visit to Newton Abbot as we are huge cider fans. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, and guided us through the impressive variety of available ciders. We sampled a number of different ciders and they were all excellent. We sat outside in the back garden and it was very pleasant and relaxed. We would definitely return.

What a lovely campsite. This is what camping is all about. The price was decent and superb for the area. £20 a night including electric.
It had been raining heavily for over a week so the pitches, even in a slope, were wet and must making it slippery to get into but with a nice run up it was fine. In drier conditions this would be no issue. You may want to bring your ramps though as some pitches slope quite a bit.
It is in a very quiet area, in the countryside but at the same time not very far from Torquay (less than 15 minutes drive, close to 10), beaches and Newton Abbot.
The owner was very accommodating and pleasant. He was able to book me in at short notice.
They have a farm shop 50 metres for the road that sells milk, eggs and a few other niceties.
They have a kitchen area that has kettle, toaster, microwave and even washing machine. The shower/toilet rooms were spacious, warm and immaculately clean.

It could be described as back to basics but will ask the mod-cons. Great place!

This is a site I would use again and again.

I visited here with the family recently for the first time. The surroundings and views were great. I think you have to be really into gardening/plants to truly appreciate the place. However, it was worth a visit for just £3 entry fee. We also had lunch here and the sandwiches were really fresh and tasty. Also, the staff were really friendly.
