What travellers are saying
- chrissieb94Dorset, UK2,098 contributionsOur first visit to Exmoor Zoo and we had a great time. There’s quite a selection to see and we followed the map to make sure nothing was missed. Staff were helpful telling us where to see certain animals to get the best view. Lots of families visiting and others on an ‘experience’ visit. Feeding time was a busy and entertaining affair! Afterwards we went to the cafe for a delicious lunch ourselves. Well worth visiting!Written 6 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - chuckleBurrington, UK20 contributionsAn interesting time, beautiful house but the “extension” looks so out of place. We will revisit but perhaps not one of our favourite places, we look forward to visiting grounds on a dry day.Written 27 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - kwarhurst1Stockport, UK13 contributionsNeeded somewhere to go for the afternoon and had the handy National Trust card to hand so headed out to Heddon Valley. Easy to find and easy to park however the road leading to it is very narrow with limited passing places. There is a pay and display machine (from for NT card holders) and can use cash or card (or RingGo I think) however very limited (if any) phone signal so don’t rely on your phone! The walk itself was leisurely beside a stream and led to a rocky cove with lots of excellent exploring options. Excellent ice cream sold at the shop upon the return to the car as wellWritten 20 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Megan C26 contributionsHaving been many times before, our purpose today was to see the Victorian Prison exhibition which, although small, was very well put together. Our other aim was to check out the tea room. Very good service and pleasant tea and cake. Also a great spot in the window to watch the world go by. A nice museum with some interactive elements for childrenWritten 15 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - katj302Bideford, UK56 contributionsCan’t remember the last time I went to the theatre! I booked in person at the box office, the lady couldn’t have been more helpful. On arrival at the theatre seats easy to find. Very comfortable and great performance, the Mousetrap. Just a shame some people cannot manage to arrive on time…… looking forward to next visit.Written 6 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sara COswestry, UK46 contributionsA wonderful quiet area just outside of Fremington (near Barnstaple). Clean fresh air and relaxing atmosphere. Lovely views over the River Taw / Estuary and good for birdwatching, especially when the tides out. Part of the Tarka Trail passes through so excellent for cyclists / walkers. Many dog walkers around, but majority cleaned up their poo, so could walk on grass safely. Great grassed area / Play area for the children. Fair amount of Free Parking. Lovely little cafe with indoor / outdoor seatingWritten 1 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Adele W11 contributionsLovely spacious playground in well maintained park. Nice short walk along the river into the town. Great stop off on our way back from Cornwall.Written 2 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Giles S1 contributionMy wife and I have just returned from our summer camping holiday in Woolacombe. I decided to take my fly fishing rod with me and booked a days fishing at Blakewell. It is a wonderful place for fly fishing and for general relaxing as my wife can testify. It has a beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings with a very easy going vibe. We met up with the affable Richard at lunch time who told us the history of the place and gave great advice on fly choice. Great fish that put up a hell of a fight, Blakewell is well worth a visit!Written 22 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JayJay3 contributionsWent here as part of my 30th Birthday weekend celebrations.
We chose the 2 hour laser game.
Wasn’t sure what to expect considering I normally opt for paintballing. The guys and I were pleasantly surprised, the game was action packed and I feel like we moved and ran around a lot more, because there no risk of getting hit by paintballs!
The instructor was brilliant and we had a good laugh.
Would certainly recommend as an alternative to paintballing but still just as fun!Written 12 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Kids and adults throughly enjoyed ourselves. Highly recommend.Written 21 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Carolyn MExeter, UK18 contributionsI just wanted to redress the balance after reading recent negative comments. We went to Castle Hill Illuminated last night and as a family covering 3 generations really enjoyed it. Yes, it's not as big as Rosemoor which we go to regularly but it had a lovely atmosphere. We enjoyed the Illuminations, bought some presents at the indoor market and enjoyed Exmoor burgers and mulled wine sitting by the firepits where the children were toasting their marshmallows.
We'll be there again next year and we'll also take part in the Easter and Hallowe'en fun as they have also been very good family outings in the past.Written 17 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the work shop was set out down the stairs. The facilities were good, the building being old didn’t affect the fun the had. Steep stairs to get down to the workshop area, which I suppose can’t be helped due to the building. Lots of fun had and worth the price.Written 22 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
