Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- marian wAnnalong, UK51 contributionsThis is such a great place to go and very reasonably priced. So interesting and could have stayed longer than the two hours we were there as didn’t see the wooded area and farm. Staff are dressed up for the time . They have demonstrations which makes it even better, and these change.Written 11 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We wandered through to the main exhibition hall to be given a lovely greeting by Victor, who then turned out to be the most excellent tour guide. He was knowledgeable and engaging and brought the exhibits to life, linking them to wider information about Belfast and Northern Ireland. Our whole visit was a delight. If the cafe had been open we'd have stayed even longer than our 4.5 hours. Having exhausted the vending machine options it was only hunger that tore us away! It was one of the best museum experiences of our lives, thanks to the kindness and friendliness of the staff there. It is far, far better than the website portrays!Written 10 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Laurence BAberdeen, UK4,361 contributionsCame after seeing other reviews and was not disappointed, expect my phone did on me. Great view of Belfast and a nice walk round the park too. - Sarah S2 contributionsMy family (including 3 children) had the BEST day out at hillside fishery! My children ask when we can return every day without fail! The staff and members went above and beyond to help us.. everyone was so friendly! I had never been fishing before but can say the lake is definitely very well stocked as we witnessed many many fish being caught. The lovely fellow fishers allowed us to watch up close when they caught fish and helped us when we caught fish- it was such a lovely atmosphere! Really can not say enough positive things about this place and from listening to the future plans it is only going to get better! Thank you so much Chris and team!Written 22 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- mervneillNewtownards, UK82 contributionsWe always try to get here for the May day celebrations and see the school children of the village strut their stuff in what must be a ceremony steeped in history.
There is always a good turnout and it's well supported by families and friends.
There is usually a market in the street as well which adds to the jovial atmosphere and happy ambience.Written 2 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 2020visionDundonald, Belfast.5,110 contributionsThe beach itself is definitely not one of the best that Northern Ireland has to offer !
There is a lovely coastal path out past the Yacht Club and the playpark was busy .
