Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a wonderful place all the beautiful Donkeys all safe and cared for away from their traumatic experiences,All the staff are extremely hard working ,caring just what these lovely animals deserve, walking through the paddocks and all have their own characteristics truly wonderful and a real credit to all the staff. There's opportunity to adopt a Donkey if you choose ,or just make a donation, excellent café with very good choice of food at reasonable prices. A wonderful experience

We absolutely loved our visits to Blackgang this week. A perfect mix of nostalgia for me (I grew up on the IOW in the 80’s) and brilliant fun for my children. So much to keep them amused, they just loved running from area to area. We all thought the water slide was brilliant but equally the simpler things like the beach, pirate ships and snakes and ladders were big hits. It poured the first time we visited but we still had great fun. Returned a few days later to do a couple of things that were closed in the rain.
Only disappointment was the cafe (no excuse for decorating that depressing, even if the view is great), beige food and coffee that could… should.. be far better. It wouldn’t put us off but should be a focus area for improvement. The little shack pumping out the smell of churros but only selling a sad, bagged selection of baked goods was no better. Catering is the one area that nostalgia to my childhood is not necessary!
All in all a great hit, we’ll be back but will have a coffee before we arrive!
Staff were all friendly and helpful.

The beach has nearly disappeared ! The Cove is full of large boulders and there are quite a few tree stumps that have been washed up,I think it will take a lot of refurbishment to reopen for another season.
The derelict house is being tastefully renovated.

I have been visiting Ventnor beach since I was very little and every time I go back, I love it just as much.

The views from the hills above are just stunning, especially when you get a good sunset. The beach itself is a real sun trap, and has the perfect mix of sand and shingle. It’s also a great place to look for sea glass with plenty being washed up.

Truly the perfect beach for a solo, couples or family trip — forever my favourite beach in the UK.

Charming little old church on the side of a steeper road. Small but really lovely to visit even though it will not take long to see it all. Recommended

Beautiful array of flowers, plants, trees. Worth a trip.
Cafe wasn't the best selection, and rather overpriced.
Could be improved with a guided route.

The park is beautifully maintained. We spent a pleasant hour wandering around. The water features are particularly attractive but there are paths up to higher ground with views over the sea.

If you are fit enough to climb up and down the steep stairs at the Devil's Chimney, you will be richly rewarded. The landslip area is jungly old growth forest unlike anywhere else on the Island.

We visited this church while we were looking for some graves of family members. It's a pretty little church with amazing history. A lovely find and located in a beautiful part of the Isle of Wight

A great museum with a fabulous gift shop. If you’re after some locally found fossils then this is the place, especially fossilised lobsters. Reasonable prices too. Lots of stuff in the shop to browse.

The Parish Church of St. Lawrence was built in 1876, it has plenty of nice stained glass windows. This replaced the tiny ‘Old Church, which is a few hundred meters away.

I don't run but my other half does. As she runs to Bonchurch I walk and can tick off the solar system, photographed in past years. Good fun for the kids.

This is located part way along the esplanade. Small monument which would be good as a meeting place.

Located part way along the sea front this small monument would be great as a meeting place for families. I would not be drinking from this.
