Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our group of four enjoyed a private tour of the Isle of Man with Nigel, who really is a great fun guide. We met our pleasant host at the Sea Terminal and set off on a day where we learned about this wonderful island. Nigel was full of fun facts and local information. His personal knowledge of the history and people added to the tour; he is a real pro. Our first stop was the Viking Castle Rushen. We explored this fascinating site; it is in superb condition and took us back in time. The next stop was Cregneash. The living musuem is a working farm from the 19th century. TImes are changing, though, and we hope they can at least keep the essence of this site for future visitors. Nigel's tales of the high speed TT races were enthralling as we drove along parts of the track; those participants are crazy! He treated us to scones and tea at the Seaside Cafe with a great view. Our drive back into town was full of scenery and more stories. Nigel is a delightful gentleman and we wish him the best of health and happiness in the future. Highly recommended tour!

Ian was a fantastic guide for this walk on the south end of Isle of Man. It was the highlight of my visit . In addition to picking me up , He provided information about additional walks, and other must see spots . I liked connecting with the locals who joined. Highly recommend to anyone who likes the outdoors and wants an authentic experience. Flow , Ian’s dog , was a friendly companion.

This was such an exciting, emotional day for me - visiting the places my ancestors lived and worked, getting private access to art in the museum that my family had created, private access to several churches that were important to my family and touching my great-great-grandparents’ headstone, among other things. It connected and touched me in ways I was not expecting, and was truly moving. Nikki’s research and connections, along with Nigel’s entertaining and endearing demeanor ferried us along through hundreds of years. It was a joyful day, and I cannot recommend them highly enough.
And if that weren’t enough, they gave us guidance and suggestions on what sights to see on our own, transportation and restaurants, to boot! We can’t thank them enough.

Jane provided a tremendous tour of Mann. She does an incredible amount of research in preparation for a tour, and was able to take us to all of the churchyards where my ancestors were born, christened, married, and died. Also, we made it to the farm that my 3g grandfather owned. In addition, we saw many sites including the Great Laxey Wheel and Peel.
I would recommend Jane to anyone wanting to dive into their family history on the Isle of Man.

We visited Scotland, Ireland and IOM on our visit to the UK. Our full day tour with Jane was nothing short of fantastic. The late October visit coincided with torrential rainstorms in Scotland and IOM. Jane picked us up on time and said she was surprised we didn't reschedule due to weather. We said we were in it to win it and we were still ready to see the island, umbrellas and rainboots ready. Jane was just as game and we headed out for an unforgettable day on the island. The wind was whipping at 60+ miles an hour and Jane willingly drove us up the cliffs to see what we could see. The views were stunning, even as the winds were knocking us off our feet and we marveled at the sheep who seemed completely unbothered. Jane took us everywhere as prior planned, we still climbed up to the top of the Laxey wheel and popped inside the dripping mine, wearing the much needed hardhats. She allowed us to stop and take as many pictures as we wanted, even as we came back to her car wet and dripping every time. We stopped in a teeny, tiny coffee shop, complete with a cozy cat sleeping in a box, overlooking the roaring sea for a mid-morning break. Lunch overlooked the massively churning sea and we were elbow to elbow with the locals (it was yummy, too!). We rode along the streets where the TT races occur. We saw King Orry's gravesite (4000-5000 yo), Tynwald, churches, graveyards, sheep, the only thing we missed was seeing a real Manx cat. :) She told us fascinating stories about Man and what it might have been like back when my grandmother lived in Douglas. She was a delightful tour guide and as we consider a return visit to the UK this year, a revisit to IOM is on the table, as we'd love to see this lovely island again and tour everything we didn't see this time - and of course it would be with Jane!

As I have never been to the island before I wanted to try a different way of exploring and discovering interesting places/facts about the destination. And using the present hunt, I managed to find some places on the island that I never would have found on my own, whether it was a museum down a random side street, or a secluded beach.

And the fact these places were supported by some incredible Christmas themed quiz questions, made it an entertaining, interactive experience, that brought a group of friends that bit closer. And I can only assume this experience will do the same for any family or couple!

The tour was cancelled by the tour guide. Awaiting my refund from Trip Advisor. He cancelled after the booking was made and less than 24 hours after the tour was ordered. And he did not contact me, I contacted him to ask a question. Trip Advisor also did not contact me about the cancellation. As previously state, awaiting my refund from Trip Advisor
