Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Stewart C8 contributionsIgnore the reviews from people who dont read the script. This is Hidden Gem and by appointment only. So plan. Call up and book. That what makes it special. The tour is both informative and engaging and Gary the guide was excellent. Taking tome to explain the process, add stories and anecdotes. The tastings were superb and drivers get a take away pack. This little distillery captures the heart of whisky production and shouldnt be missedWritten 2 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Simon PLondon, UK5 contributionsPlayed a round of golf with my Dad on 28/10/24 in the morning and it was an absolute delight. We have played here many times over the years and Kingussie always offers up spectacular views across the valley, particularly on 5th and 6th holes. This is worth the green fee on its own in my opinion!
They had recently hollow-tyned the greens (fair enough as we are at the end of Oct) but the fairways were in really good shape and you got good lies around the fringe, which is big plus point this far into autumn. The course was also almost empty- we got round in 2.5 hours for a 2 ball.
We popped in for a quick beer after and met the manager (apologies I didn't get your name)- he was really friendly and was telling us about all the things that are going on at Kingussie GC and the changes coming in, so some exciting times ahead for the club.
All in all, I would highly recommend Kingussie for a fair game of golf at great value, with superb views of the Cairngorms.Written 28 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Lots of birdlife including whooper Swans, roe deer and all the regular little birds. Definitely highly recommendWritten 13 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- PrafulKLondon, UK57 contributionsLock Gynach is easily accessed from the centre of Kingussie. If you go towards the summit of Creag Bheag, you'll get fine views. It's a few hundred metres ascent but straightforward. If you have the energy, you can go to Newtonmore before returning to KingussieWritten 27 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lyn W1 contributionI recently attended the Introduction to Glass Fusing course with Anne, what a tremendous day I had!
Anne had worked hard to ensure the studio adhered to all Covid safety guidelines. Masks were worn and sanitizer was readily available. Where possible, tutorials and showing examples of fusingmediums and materials we would sit outside, socially distance so we could be mask free for a wee while. I managed to produce several items of which I am proud. Will definitely be making more!
Anne is an excellent tutor, extremely knowledgable and enthusiastic. I can highly recommend this course.

Everything is created by local makers and there were so many lovely reminders of the Cairngorms area which I wanted to take home for presents and for myself!Written 13 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Clare1 contributionWe had a very enjoyable hour looking at the exhibition by local artists, an interesting conversation with the people running it, bought two paintings and arranged very easily to have them sent - and have received them safely and promptly on returnWritten 15 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - drew nell1 contributionWe were able to rent 2 bikes off season, many of the other shops were closed and did not have great information about when they would actually be open. Owner was super cool, took good care of us. Rentals were affordable and he had good local knowledge of trail systems.Written 27 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Fergus M1 contributionFriendly and fun- We has a great morning learning some new skills and learning new routes . - Alexander P7 contributionsBothy Bikes is a small (some might say tiny), family-run, high-street bike shop, and the owner David was very helpful. He got me quickly setup with a well-tuned ebike, and oriented me to it efficiently (as I have limited experience with ebikes). He provided a good fitting and comfortable helmet, a small tool kit, and a helpful, good-quality map. He was really helpful with suggestions as to where to ride locally. Some nice off road trails, and some nice quiet country roads. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride/route he suggested, and he was spot on about some good locations for a stop or a picture. I learned some local history along the way. A great way to spend a morrning or day in this area.Written 24 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - hammy_squireGlasgow, UK14 contributionsWe had an incredible couple of days winter mountaineering with Stephen in the Cairngorms. We learnt a shed a load at a good rate that we then put straight into practice on a brilliant winter climb.
We were made to feel comfortable and part of the decision making process throughout, and as a result struck the perfect balance to allow for plenty of learning and progression.
I would highly recommend these guys for any of your guiding/course needs.Written 17 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
