Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had an incredible couple of days winter mountaineering with Stephen in the Cairngorms. We learnt a shed a load at a good rate that we then put straight into practice on a brilliant winter climb.

We were made to feel comfortable and part of the decision making process throughout, and as a result struck the perfect balance to allow for plenty of learning and progression.

I would highly recommend these guys for any of your guiding/course needs.

Picturesque ride through a lovely location. The ponie trekking took us through several hills; we even got to see some old barracks, cows and what seemed an abandoned farm.

The only suggestion would be to include explanations about the area during the ride. I would have loved to hear some history about the barracks we got to see, about the local way of life, local fauna, etc.

Family trek with 6, 9 and 12 year olds- all beginners- lovely hour long trek in stunning scenery. Ponies carefully chosen for size/ability/temperament of those on the trek so can’t guarantee you’ll be next to your child as commented on in another review but that’s for safety/balance on the trek which is good. Option of rise trotting for more experienced riders on one section, walking for others - clearly depends on the ability of group as appropriate. Boots if needed are provided by stables. A treat to go on this trek in this area. Will be back!

We booked wild wheels and waterways as had wanted to try paddle boarding for some time and thought the tarn was an ideal location for a first attempt. We arrived and was greeted by a friendly member of the adventure team who explained everything. We were driven up to the private tarn and greeted by another friendly member of the team who gave us instruction, a wetsuit and a board. The setting is lovely, nestled amongst the trees and very tranquil. We were put at ease by everyone. Help was given if needed but were able to just paddle about. Confidence grew and we wanted to stay all day! We thoroughly enjoyed the paddle boarding. Overall was a wonderful experience. A lovely relaxing distraction that would do again and good value for money. After the event we were taken back down to the car park where we walked a short walk to the castle, enjoyed an owl display and walk in around the castle. We were also fortunate to have a warm sunny day and the views are spectacular. Thank you to the Frost-Pennington family and Muncaster staff for a very enjoyable memorable day.
