Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My wife and myself are currently holidaying in North Devon staying at the excellent Imperial Hotel at Barnstable (Review to follow) and earlier today we visited Ilfracombe (45 mins away by the most efficient local public bus service). On closer inspection this turned out to be

Whilst there we were drawn towards the Port area which was teeming with people and the first thing to catch our eye was a very interesting and large stature. On closer inspection this turned out to be Damien Hirst’s Verity.

Normally, I would encourage others to visit the attraction bit - in this particular instance - it’s virtually impossible to miss!,

We were in the area and decided to have a walk around here. The views are nice. It feels relatively safe to walk around although the area does seem like it isn't looked after with litter, dog poo, dog poo bags etc around. Nice place to visit if you are in the area and the weather is good.

passed by on our way into the town centre. Surprisingly the church was open on a weekday and what a lovely surprise when we entered. Bright, airy, spacious with lovely stained glass windows. Lots of details and notices showing how well-used this place is. Pop in and check it out.
