Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had an excellent day with Waseem! Not only was he prompted for the pick up, but he arrived about 10 minutes early, just to make sure that he found us and was situated and ready to go on time.

He was incredibly flexible with where we stopped and for how long. He would frequently check in with us to make sure we didn’t need to stop for water or restroom break. He even brought us some treats and hydration to enjoy on the drive.

He was a fantastic storyteller and very knowledgeable about the history and culture of the area.

On our way home we got stuck behind a really bad accident that added an extra 5 hours to our trip. Waseem’s positivity and stories were the only thing that kept us sane in the face of what could have ruined the day.

I highly recommend this tour and Waseem . Well worth the money!

We had a really great holiday with Lochs and Glens - on their Castles and Gardens Holiday. The hotel in Loch Tummel was lovely, with a gorgeous view of the loch and hills from our window, The food and staff were great, as usual.

This isn't a holiday for relaxing - the company fits in quite a few places for you to visit, but it's well worth doing.

We were with a new coach driver - Aiden - and he was great. I hope Lochs and Glens hire him again as he will be a great asset to them - a 'people person' and very approachable.

Just to mention - the hotel is situated down quite a long track (about15 minutes?) but the coach drivers are experienced; it's just that this is a bit of the journey you will have at the start of every excursion. Not a problem - the upside is that you stay in a beautiful peaceful area.

Day trip including, 3 bridges, village of Culross, Bannockburn site, Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument
    May 2024
William picked up the 6 of us at our hotel (Du Vin) in Edinburgh. Our first stop was South Queensferry and the viewing platform to see the 3 bridges from 3 different centuries that span the Firth of Forth. Then on to the picturesque village of Culross (used as a filming location for Outlander and other films). From there to the site of the battle of Bannockburn and the monument to Robert the Bruce. We then headed to Stirling Castle and admired the views of Stirling from the wall around the castle. Next was the Wallace Monument. We opted for the van ride to the top to admire even more spectacular views of the countryside below. Throughout the trip Willie (William Gavin) educated us regarding the kings, battles and geography of the area. His enthusiasm and love of Scotland was infectious. He tailored our excursion perfectly, taking into consideration some in our group with mobility challenges. We were dropped back at our hotel in Edinburgh after a wonderful day filled with beautiful sites and a better understanding of the history of the area.

We had a fabulous day with Noel. He catered to our every wish of what to see in the Highlands. He was so knowledgeable of Scottish history and the Highlands area. He took us to a great little Inn for lunch and even talked us into trying haggis which we all agreed was good! His van was brand new and spotless! And he had a nice selection of drinks and snacks for our long journey. We so enjoyed spending the day with him and hearing all his knowledge and stories. Thanks Noel!

Planned and ordered a whisky tasting tour with assistance of Whiskywheels. The communication in the planning phase was good and the performance of the tailormade tour to the Speyside district was excellent. A quick summing up among the participants told me that the overall experience of the tour was out of the boundaries in a good way due to the excellent driver and all arrangements taken care of.

I strongly recommend Whiskywheels as a competitive organizer of tailormade whisky tours

The trip arranged by Euan was very good. We could not get the distilleries we wanted (ie Balvenie or Macallan) but the options provided by Euan was a good alternative. Our driver, Stephen, picked us up early at our hotel at 6:45am and started the long drive up. We went to Glenfarclas, Aberlour and Cragganmore distilleries. The Glenfarclas visit was my favourite as the guide shared a lot of information and we get to see the fermentation process in the mash tuns (that was so fun). Sadly Aberlour is upgrading its facility and so we only went for the tasting.

As we had a jam-packed itinerary, Stephan was nice enough to keep us on the clock so that we don't end up being late for the subsequent visits. After Aberlour, we were surprised that Euan had reserved a table at Dowan Hotel 57 (Speyside) for lunch and we had a fantastic meal there. As there was a bit of time, we made our way to Glenlivet for tastings and then head to Cragganmore for the distillery tour. It was a comfortable ride back and we reached Edinburgh slightly before 8pm.

Overall, we enjoyed the trip and do recommend Whisky Wheels. However, please do note that responses from Euan can be slow. There were regular email exchanges when we were finalising the trip details and full payment was made in March. However, there was nothing from Euan 1-2 weeks before the tour, despite sending emails and follow up chasers. I was concerned that this was a scam, and started reading the review comments. Fortunately, the reviews I read did reduce my anxiety as most of the reviews were good with the comment on communication with Euan. With that, Euan did finally send me the details a few days before the trip, and we did have fun that day.

Our driver/guide, George, was the absolute best!! There was a miscommunication on which “Leonardo” hotel we were staying at - and this saint of a man arrived in Edinburgh early in the morning (from Glasgow) and George checked each hotel to make sure he picked us up on time. I went to the lobby early at 8am and he was already there. And that was before the tour even started! George showed us as much of Scotland as possible in 12 hours. We will forever be grateful for his knowledge and love of his country and its history - and that he shared it all with us. We wanted to see some filming locations (Doune Castle - Monty Python & the Holy Grail - the French Taunter; Game of Thrones - Winterfell; and Outlander - Castle Leoche) and the Glenfinnan Viaduct, along with as many beautiful and historical locations as possible. George introduced us to: The Kelpies, Loch Lomand , The 3 Sisters: (Mountains named Faith, Hope, Charity) and the site of the Glencoe Massacre, the Glenfinnan Viaduct (Jacobite Train - and the Hogwarts Express) & the Highland Coos) . We will remember this day forever and are so so so grateful to George for his kindness and wisdom.

We spent 10 days in Scotland mostly exploring by ourselves, but decided to book this tour as the viaduct was just too difficult to get to otherwise... and it was well worth it! The highlight of the holidays for us! We're both huge Harry Potter fans and this was just a very special experience, watching the Hogwarts Express pass by. Our guide Martin was amazing, he was very attentive, knowledge and extremely funny. We will definitely book a couple of tours with him again when we return to Scotland next year!

We had a wonderful tour with Sean. His knowledge of the historical sites and the culture added to the experience plus we had lots of good conversation about our home and his home. My husband and I are elderly and Sean recognized that in some venues we would need accommodation to reach the site (Stirling Castle). Beryl Is an excellent communicator and when we wanted to add Rosslyn Chapel in lieu of the Wallace memorial she readily facilitated that change. We highly recommend this couple as your Scotland tour guides.

My family of 4 adults had the good fortune to have booked & corresponded with Crosby & Bruce. The incredible experiences ADRIAN showed us throughout the Scottish Highlands, Stirling Castle, Loch Lomond & the breathtaking Kelpies in only the way a passionate guide could express. The beautiful sights were with a customized itinerary meeting our interests, prior to the date booked. Adrian met us at our hotel & the luxury car was immaculate & most comfortable. The sights were well chosen with a flow of information about all things "Scottish" enhancing our knowledge & keen interests. A true gentleman, that gave us no unpleasant surprises. He went out of his way to provide us with all the time we required at different sights with no pressure of time restraints. I would HIGHLY recommend Crosby & Bruce if you want a tour that values their clients & maintains the PROFESSIONALISM a seasoned traveler comes to expect. Thank You for the Memories you helped create for this Special Family Scottish Experience. June 2024 Jeffrey F Toronto Canada
